Hello! I'm new here so just getting acquainted withe the site!

Wedding Date: March 17. 2010

Location: Iberostar Laguna Azul

*** I'm looking for a photographer!!! It's quite expensive to fly a photographer there and pay for the entire package! One of my ideas is that if anyone else is getting married in Varadero that week... we could split the travel cost!

Also, great to have info on the "private reception" because Yahimara did not send me that info!

Thanks!

Hey Varadero Bride,

Congrats and welcome to the forum! You will find so many amazing ideas on here, and everyone is super helpful. Happy planning!!

As for your photographer...what most brides do is change their 'siggy' to add something like "looking to share a photographer in (blank) for the week of (blank). Mgs me if interested" To change your siggy, you just go to the upper left toolbar and hit USER CP. Than you just click edit your signature on the left panel and write whatever you want, that way whenever you write a comment it will show up for everyone to see.

Here is what Yahimara sent me regarding the private reception

If you want a private dinner reception we have three different a la carte restaurants with different menus:

Steak House Restaurant “Monserrateâ€

Healthy Meals Restaurant “Basoraâ€

Cuban Restaurant “ La Insularâ€

Times tables:

From 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm (with extra charge 15.00 CUC/pax)

From 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm (free of charge)

The lobster offer is available in all the restaurants.

If you want a private party after dinner for dancing you can reserve the disco/aqua bar or

meeting room from 9.00 pm to 11.00 pm. For that you should pay 150.00 CUC for the location

and 8.00 CUC/Pax for the opened bar.

She also said it is $18 per person for the lobster dinner.

Hope that helps!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I believe the civil servant (or whatever you would call the officiant) works across a few resorts... At least that's what the wedding coordinator made it sound like. When I booked my date, she said "I just need to make sure he is still available for this time." I believe there is a possibility of 3 per day: 11am, 2pm or 4pm. Chances of 3 weddings per day during March break are much higher than during off-peak season.

The resort was officially opened on Sept.14 and the reviews have been awesome! There is plenty of photos and info now on Trip Advisor - just search Iberostar Laguna Azul and the reviews and photos will pop up. You can also go to Diaporamas - Voyagesarabais.com for some great pictures.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
