Ok I know this sounds horrible but all I ever wanted from my wedding was free booze (for the guest) and a dj with a dance floor. But I have heard lots of horror stories of the dj sucking. Since I can't interview him, how do I make sure he or she is everything I want

I just feel like I am way behind and should have had one by now.

First double check with your resort about which DJs they allow. My resort only let me choose from their DJ, Mannia, or Doremixx.
This may help narrow down your choices.

I have emailed both Mannia and Dormixx and both have been very helpful and responsive. They have sent me playlists and answered all of my questions in detail.

Thank you for the update I noticed you are getting married at a dreams Tulum so I guess I should check that right away.
