Where My Teachers At?!

*Karla*

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!

I am also an elementary teacher ..... but I don't have one specific grade. I teach kids with hearing loss.

When I go back in September, it will be my 3rd year of teaching.

Last summer, we were having our house built so I feel like I spent a lot of my time doing running around for that. This summer, I am doing a bit of travelling (went to Jamaica and am heading to BC on Wednesday) but other than that, I mostly keep busy around the house. My FI gets a lot of holidays so he tries to take as many weeks as he can in the summer so we can spend it together.

I don't blame you for going a little stir crazy though. I feel it sometimes but honestly, I am soooo busy through the year I feel like I should enjoy being bored!

I know! I am saving money not having to buy as much gas, but then I just spend it on lunch dates!

Ok I need advice from you all :)

I am looking for a teaching job, in elementary this coming school year. now, when we booked the date I was trying to make it cheaper for guests so I booked when there are no school vacas & now I think im in trouble. I am going to need like 4 days off and how can I ask a principal as a new hire to do that? You are all teachers what do u think i should do..I dont have a job yet...change the date?, or just let them know at the interview that this has been long planned and I will need the time?

I teach high school, this will be my first year out of the classroom. I am going to be a teaching specialist this year, helping the teachers in the two buildings of the high school integrate technology into their classrooms. I also teach a virtual class. I have been teaching AP government for 3+ years now.

Karen, I think you will be fine taking time off, most districts give you a certain amount of personal leave for the year, if that doesn't cover it you can take unpaid leave. then maybe you and your fi can take a honeymoon during a school break. I wouldn't even mention it in your interview. the only problem you could encounter is if that is a major testing time for your state.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
