WOW, I can't believe he actually sent you this email!!!! Thank you for posting it here. If I were you, I would post it everywhere and possibly even with the Better Business Bureau! Nothing like making sure his "up and coming reputation" is full of truth!

Ok....I even had to read your original post twice, Steph, to believe what you were saying was real and not a joke -- THIS GUY IS AN IDIOT! Wow, talk about professional suicide! Thank your lucky stars he showed his true colors before you might have gone with him and found out the hard way what a total a-hole he is as a paying customer!

Warning all of us BWDers about this self-important scumbag was the right thing to do -- kudos to you! Hopefully word will get out within the entire destination-wedding community, and this jacka** will finally get what he has coming to him...a hearty slap in the face and an overdue reality check! Hmm, actually, a "reality check" is the ONLY type of check I foresee in this moron's future; no one will be sending him actual monetary checks because no one will want to work with such a judgemental loser! Yeah, and if he wants to throw around threats like "slander", maybe he ought to know what he's talking about first! I was a journalism major and that is one of my pet-peeves, when people can't get it right -- it's easy to remember that slander is spoken, and libel is written! But, then again, this guy probably can't even tie his own shoes, so maybe that's asking too much.

Stephanie, your response to him was brilliant! It was spot-on, mature, and intelligent -- all of the things that this jerk clearly isn't! You should be proud of yourself, because we all sure are! wink.gif

lol I just googled "studioido" and this came up: Studio I do Studioido Bryce Jenkinson Photography guess he's changing website names hoping that this thread won't turn up when you search google? You can't run from what you did buddy! Guess he's interested in continuing to belittle unsuspecting women....sad.

Could we add that address to the thread title too maybe? cohophoto.com/home3.htm

Wow, he's wasting no time trying to run and hide from this problem that he has brought upon himself. So sad.

wow that is outrageous. it baffles me that people today in these hard economic times have the nerve to be rude like that to paying customers.

first off, how would any destination look cheap with the beautiful scenery. the majority of people out there are not models so i don't know what bizarro world that guy is living in.

it's good you shared this story, because i would never spend my hard earned money on a jerk like that.

first of all I was shocked that this even happened...

i dont really know what to say, and all i can really do is just shake my head.

on the other hand, this just popped in my head:

Dear Bryce,

On behalf of all the photographers who are proud members of BDW, we would like to sincerely thank you for all your 'would-be' future business.

all the best,

Michael

***To be fair to him (not that I feel it makes him look any better) this was his reply to me:

Stephanie,

Sorry I came off rude to you! The market is tight and I am getting over shopped. We should have talked instead of email. Things always get lost in translation/ interpretation when written. It was very unprofessional of you to copy and past my email and put it on a forum and link it to my business name.
One, it is not appropriate for me to devalue the market with doing events cheap or inexpensive it hurts the entire industry. Two, I photograph all walks of life, tall, skinny, same sex marriages, black, white and make them all look beautiful on their day. You were asking for best deal offers and bargain shopping. I am honest and up front. If I was to take the job for dirt cheap I had some requirements for portfolio building. This is not my desire to need a client to have a certain build and look. It is an unfortunate part of society that certain individuals generate interest ( why we have an industry called modeling ) and I was honest in letting you know that I was looking for a particular individual. For $k I can't loose 3 peak days of business. That is still too cheap to take on the job as a standard client.
Best of luck with your wedding and future. Please take a breath and ask the individual that you have conflict with before slandering them. I would be very careful with the legality of what you just did and so bravely staked claim to!

Bryce

***I responded to this reply last night with the following:

Bryce,

First off, I asked what you would charge me if I paid for travel, I never asked you to perform services for a certain price. You are the only photographer that had an issue with naming a price you felt comfortable with, nobody else felt the need to inquire about my looks or if I was having a "cheap" wedding. Second, I work for about 20 attorneys. I have not done anything slanderous to you as to slander is to speak falsely about another person, what you are accusing me of is libel. To be guilty of libel you have to print false statements about someone. I simply quoted the exact words you sent to me, and none of the statements were taken out of context, thus not false and not libel.

As for the explanation you gave. It is not needed, the damage you have done to me is already there. Most women would like to see examples of wedding photos containing real women like themselves, not models. Regardless of your reasons you still crossed the line in the manner you choose to express yourself.

I would be happy to quote your further explanation if you think that would help, but since I did not take anything out of context I'm sure my fellow brides will still be as upset as I am by the disturbing questions you presented to me. Please choose your words more carefully in the future, I would hate to see another bride subjected to the same distress.

Please do not contact me again.

Stephanie

It's so sad that anytime a vendor does wrong the first thing they do is threaten to sue. Sadly they NEVER have a case. Reviews, good or bad is the way of life. People need to know stuff like this happens and IMO I feel this theard doesn't need to be changed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
