I agree! Thank goodness for forums like this. FI talks about the wedding all of the time and I swear people are going to smack him one day. I can come online and rant and rave without feeling like I'm annoying anyone... at least I hope

Well girls, I don't think it ends after the wedding. Now I get people who say "ohh- too be a newlywed. Give them 5 years and they won't be so happy." WTF? I'm sorry some people let their marriages become something they view as negative. I personally don't have that mind set. Sure, there is ups and downs, but I hope that when I get several years down the road, I look back and think it was mostly up.
OR the single friends that don't invite you to stuff because you're married and it's a "girls" event. Hmm- I didn't realize my ceremony included surgically attaching my hubby to my hip.
OR the single friends that don't come to things you invite them to because they assume it's going to be all "couples." Unfortunately, the harsh reality is that sometimes when you get on different paths than your friends, it can be kinda bumpy. However, if you just keep strong and don't let the negativity get to you, then you will continue to be happy. Now I'm just waiting for some of my friends to settle down so we can kinda be on the same wavelength.

i'm glad i read this post and the comments because i was starting to wonder about some of my own friends behaviour. i have a few close friends that have not asked me one detail about wedding planning. luckily i have some friends that have been married forever and are going to be bridesmaids so they get ask. it's weird that the people i want to talk too don't, and i have a lot of people i barely talk to that want to know every detail. funny, eh.
whenever someone asks me about me, i always make a point to ask about them right away too. most of the time people end up talking about themselves more so i don't feel bad. i didn't dream of every detail for my wedding so all this planning is completely new for me.
i say just enjoy yourself and the process because it only happens once!!!

I'm getting the same thing.
My best friend and self appointed MOH said to me "It's a good thing I love you as much as I do because no one else would want to listen to you talk about your wedding like I do."
All I said was "I need to get off the phone I have an appt. with a jeweler about fixing my engagement ring."
