Travel time for La Romana

Recommended Posts

I am getting different information on the travel times there from Punta Cana. One TA says 90 mins another one said 2 hours and another one said 2 hrs and 15 mins. I dont really want to have our party travel for more then 90 mins. Please if anyone knows.

Thanks

Nicole

From the Punta Cana Airport to Dreams La Romana. Thats what we have been hearing but from this one travel agent who is 100 percent positive that it is 2 and 1/2 hours.... So I think we may just deal with the other ones because she seems to pushing us to resorts we already told her we didn't want to go to...

Let me know what you conclude from this Nicole8. I am looking at this resort for my wedding too, but the travel time from Punta Cana Airport is a bit of a turn off. And the fact that beach is very short and lacks sand. It's also right beside a crazy public beach from what i'm finding in my research. But the price is right from Wpg (where we'd all be travelling from) and it has the gazebo I've been looking for in that price range.

What is this crazy public beach you are talking about? Where have you found your information because I am finding it hard to come across any. The beach looks alright didn't notice the lack of sand or length but I will have to look more into this. thanks.

I have done a LOT of "google"-ing lately! I've googled Sunscape Casa Del Mar and Dreams La Romana. They are one and the same. Some reviews say they did not like being next to the public beach b/c it was crowded and loud and there were people trying to sell things to them. Others enjoyed it b/c it gave them a chance to talk to locals and get more culture. Apparently the locals go there on their days off to enjoy the beach like every other person would do. From what I've found so far, there's only one other resort near that area, but is also further down the beach. I'm not sure how I feel about being next to a public beach but the appeal of having more cultural exposure in a different country is always nice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
