Altier Bridal on 5th between 16th and 17th carried NM. It worked out good because I got to try on some others though. I think I still want to hit up the NM store in San Diego because I forgot about two others that I wanted to try. =) I wont be able to decide until i try on all the ones i like even though one might fit perfectly........is that odd?

Nope, not odd at all! Sounds like you just want to make sure you try them all & don't miss out on what could be The Dress! I'd do the same.

And thanks for the info on Altier! I had an appt at Macy's yesterday (um, not good unless you really like big poofy bedazzled dresses). Then I went down to the NM store in Soho to check it out. The store was completely empty, except for the security guard & rude sales assistant and she acted like it was a big deal to let me look at the book of dresses they carry. I know it's by appt only but hadn't made one cuz I didn't know which dresses they have so when I asked when the next avail appt is the rude chick was like "you mean TODAY?!?" like I was asking the impossible of her (with NO ONE in the store, mind you). I said well if you had something today that'd be great or just the next avail. She said I could come back at 4:30 (I was there at noon) and I was like, um no. I made an appt for next week but I don't even want to go back b/c she was so rude - she even acted like I was asking a lot when I wanted her to write the time down on a card.

I really hope you don't have a similar experience with NM when you go (I know it'll be on an opposite coast, hopefully they'll have the opposite attitude as well!).

So I'm glad to hear that Altier has NM dresses too. How were they customer-service wise?

The Altier Bridal customer service was great! I did have an appointment, I made it a week in advance but she could not find it in the computer she took me anyway with no questions asked. I later got an email from her thanking me for the day and she must have found the appt because I never gave her my email when I was in the store.

They had about 10 NM dresses in the store and the have NM all over there website. I orginally had an appt at the Soho but when I told my FI where the appt was he was like SOHO? we are going to be all the way up by central park west.............and I........a texas girl was like.............so? So Altier It is.

After hearing your story I am kinda glad that worked out. Funny too because I was kinda sad that I didn't make it to macys, but now you just made me feel better about that. wink.gif

Ask for Jessica at Altier if you can she was great!!!!

Yeah, you DEFINITELY did not miss anything by not going to Macy's. I was extremely disappointed. Terrible customer service - the woman that "helped" me basically said if I didn't know what I want there's only so much she can do. I told her what I was looking for (simple, chiffon, think beach-wedding) and they had like 3 dresses that fit that criteria but they all had some sort of crazy sequins or beading. Then she kept bringing me mermaid style or big poof monsters - I guess b/c that's all she could offer.

Anyway, thanks for the info. I may cancel my NM appt & just go to Altier - & I'll definitely ask for Jessica. I'm sure she'll appreciate your recommendation!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
