Hello Brides!

After searching hi and low for the perfect place at home, we decided to follow our dream of a destination wedding on the beach!

We are thinking of a wedding on the Mayan Riviera or right in Playa del Carmen. Any ideas?

There will be about 40 of us, including children. Some people are price sensitive.

Congratulations! I say go for a hotel in the Playa Car area. It's pretty much only hotels and time shares and still walking distance to downtown Playa del Carmen.

Some of our guests were budget concious too so we chose a resort that has everything that anyone would need, but the draw back is it's about a 15 min drive to downtown Playa del Carmen.

Good luck on your search and let me know if you have any questions. I'll see what I can do to help out!

I was just in Cozumel in May and it was great there, we went to Playa de Carmen for a day and visited the Sandos Playcar Resort... it was very pretty, kid friendly and priced well but I can't say I know much about their wedding packages!

Congrats and welcome. This is such a helpful site. we are looking into the same area. The resorts were are loooking at ate Sandos, Grand Porto Real/The Plaza (You can stay at the Grand Porto yet get married at The sister Resort: The Plaza which has a beautiful location yet very expensive rooms, and the trird one we are looking at is the Grand Occidental Xcaret.

Here are the forum link for the thread of information:

Sandos - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t31793

Grand Occidental Xcaret - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t28154

Grand Porto Real - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t43618

All these hotels are all-inclusive so if your looking for room only there are lots of great economical options. Shangri La Criribe ( Shangri-La Caribe Hotel Playa del Carmen Mexico, Beachfront Resort, welcome ) is also beautiful and I believe they do meals only.

Hope to see you around the forum. wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
