I tried to email the WC too, no response....maybe she's using a different address? On the plus side I have been stalking tripadvisor daily and the last bunch of reviews have been awesome (generally most are great but for a little while I was getting worried cause there was a bunch of negative ones - I think there was either food poisoning or a nasty virus going aorund).

I noticed that bad batch of reviews, too. I heard that there was a bad stomach flu that was going all around that part of Cuba at that time. I hope that that was it and not food poisoning. Has anyone gotten that traveller's diarrhea vaccine? I've got my hep vaccines but I'm strongly considering that one, too.

Lately there's also been a bunch of bad reviews mentionning food poisoning for the Laguna Azul in Varadero. If it's all happening roughly around the same time in two totally different parts of the country, maybe there was a virus, like someone said, or a bad batch of a certain type of food?

Ah... that's good to know. Sounds like maybe whatever it is it isn't specific to just one resort- that's actually pretty comforting.

Hey ladies,

Thought I would try to revive this thread - how is everyone's planning going? Anyone care to share a review or helpful tips if you've already had your wedding?

I still haven't been able to contact the WC, I'm hoping that we get the pool side snack bar for our reception...I'm getting pretty excited, hope that the weather cooperates for us while we're there .

Planning is going well- we'll be there in two weeks and I can't wait.

 

I've had some contact with Melissa, but that hasn't been helpful. She told me that we won't know the location of our ceremony until we get there which I think is pretty bogus- I know I've seen people online who knew beforehand. Other than that, though, everything is going well. My planning is pretty much done (just put the last of my wedding programs together today) and I'm ready to go! I can't wait- I'll get a review up as soon as I can once I get back.
