Yay Mel - your day is coming SO quick!! I'm sure you'll have a blast no matter what, if worst comes to worst I figure I could have an a la carte and then rent that conference room if I can't get the snack bar for some reason. I'm excited for your review and to see how all your wedding details come together :), are you incorporating your own vows into the ceremony?

Thanks! We didn't write our own vows but we have a "ceremony script" with vows that we found in it.

I think they're dealing with Gina, the francophone co-ordinator, instead of Melissa. I had some contact with her at the beginning when I was trying to sort things out and she was super helpful, so that'd be my guess. First come first served makes no sense- they know who'll be there and what our guest lists look like! Sheesh. My wedding is late on a Wednesday with a Sunday arrival so I'll be last in line, too.

I agree with sjmacphe, though, I'll just rent the conference room or something if I get stuck in an a la carte. It won't be the end of the world. From what I've seen on facebook most weddings our size don't get put in the a la carte, so we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.

you think you could rent out the hall in advance and then cancel when there if u see u can get the pool side resto?
I think it's about three pages plus a reading that my brother's doing, but I'm using a smaller font. I still think it'll go by pretty quick- the legal part only takes a few minutes apparently.

I think I'll just wait and see what happens when I get there. I'm taking a laid back approach at this point- from what I've seen the WC at the resort is pretty great so I'm sure when we get there things will go well. It's easier this way than stressing or trying to go through Melissa. We'll just bring lots of cash lol- I'm sure that'll help too rolleyes.gif

I have moments of stress about the wedding too, especially since we just sort of show up without a lot of formal bookings - and because my mom and others keep asking me about the details and I have to keep explaining that we won't know everything until we get there, they don't seem to understand lol.

When I talked to my FI when I was stressing out - basically he told me - stop trying to make everything perfect, it's not going to be - and just go with the flow. I mean that was the whole point of doing this for us (a DW) to be less stressful, and I think it has been for the most part. I just have to stop worrying about other people and just go with the flow a bit more. DW (especially at this resort) are definitely hard when you are a planner like I am!

Hi Ladies,

We are looking at switching to this resort. It came highly recommended by our TA. We were originally booked for Mexico - Azul Sensatori for November 10/10. But... we had a little whoops...we just found out that we're pregnant and due in November! How's that for timing?? Basically we're now looking at late January/ early February. The resort looks great and I've read through your thread. Unfortunately I couldn't link to Ashley's planning thread or photos. I'll have to do an actual search later. Trip advisor has pretty good reviews.

I'm wondering how has everything been for you all so far? If you had to choose all over again, would you choose the same resort? Based on service you've gotten, how easy going they are... etc. Any other words of advice?

Thanks,

Crista

I will say that is awkward. People have been asking me things about the wedding, too, and I feel a bit strange when I have to say I don't know yet!

I think there is, but I don't remember where I heard that from. Hmmm.

Congrats! Wow, that's pretty amazing. I think so far I'd recomend this resort- I'd choose it again. If you have a larger group going the free wedding package is a pretty good deal. I will say our Canadian WC is pretty usless, but I've heard nothing but good things about the WC at the resort itself and that's what really matters at the end of the day. I'll post up a review as soon as I get back, I'll know more then. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
