I don't, actually, now that you mention it! I was hoping to get it from my travel agent or Melissa.

Does anyone else have her email?

Just giving this thread a bump before it falls off of the page!

So, MLD brides, where are you in your planning? I've just about finished- just waiting for my mugs and favours to arrive and I have a few small DIY things to finish (like programs) a bit closer to the time. Is anyone bringing any decorations like table settings, or are you just going with what's there (like me)?

Has anyone been dealing with Melissa at all? I sent her an email with a few questions a week or two ago and she did (sort of) answer them but basically told me to email her about a month before the wedding to wrap some things up. She also told me that the location for the reception is decided once we're down there- which is a bummer because I'd like to know ahead of time if we'll have a private dinner or be in a restaurant. I get the feeling she's a bit useless- hope I'm wrong about that but I guess it doesn't really matter as long as the on site coordinator is good.

I don't have a picture of my mugs yet because they're still being shipped but I got them from discountmugs. At first I was going to go with 4imprint because I figured I'd save on duty if I got them in Canada, but those guys were terrible to deal with. I don't recommend them at all! I'd select a mug from their website and then get an email a few days later saying that that style was out of stock. I went through this four times with them (I even tried ordering a style they recommended and it still happened) so I ended up canceling my order. Discount mugs was a lot easier to deal with and the mugs and shipping worked out to be a lot cheaper, too. I'll post up a picture of them once I get them- should be in a few weeks at the most (I didn't pay for fast shipping). A lot of girls from here have gotten mugs from there and liked them so I figured it was probably a pretty safe bet.

I heard that too- that you can rent a conference room or something and have a DJ for a reception after the dinner. I don't think I have enough people to bother doing this, myself- I'll probably just stick with the ipod dock/ speakers. How about you guys- are you thinking about having a reception?

Hey ladies,

Meli - are you bringing your own ipod dock? I have one, it's not super loud but it might suffice, hope that there is somewhere to plug it in in the pool snack bar.

I am debating renting the conference room, I am leaning towards no - mainly b/c I don't think enough ppl are going to want to dance super late, I have a big mixture of older/younger people - so at most we might have 15 or so younger people who want to stay there late, I just think it would be kind of silly to have a huge conference room (undecortated) so that 15 of us could hang out there....I think we will try to go to the lobby bar/disco. I have heard you can bring CDs that they will play for you at dinner, I like the idea of an ipod though...let us know how it works for you Meli! Maybe the DJ will play my CDs :)

PS - someone on the facebook group sent an email for Marie Elena (the WC), I haven't heard a response yet, let me know if you guys want it.

We've just bought an ipod dock to bring, so I hope they'll be able to plug it in (with a converter, of course). We'll bring some CD's as a backup, too.

Yeah, if you don't mind PM that email address. I may try to get in touch with her closer to the time and see about making spa reservations and if we'll have the poolside restaurant for dinner for sure. Melissa just brushed me off when I asked if we could find out sooner, but I'm sure that I've heard of other girls being told where their dinner would be ahead of time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
