Hello, my name is Crystal and I am just getting started on planning my Oahu wedding. I was just wondering if any one on here could give me some starting out tips. I am wanting to have a weddingmoon on the beach. I looked into sweethawaiiwedding.com but they emailed me back and told me to google affordable weddings. The pretty much blew me off. I was really thinking about going with them but now I have to start my searching all over again. Any suggestions? Are there any sites that offer an all inclusive weddingmoon with airfare and hotel? I just want to make this as easy as possible yet I want my wedding to be pretty too. please let me know who is the best to book my ceremony with. Thank you.

Hi Crystal, welcome to BDW!

As far as weddings, you're going to have a lot of options on Oahu. It's not always necessary to hire an outside wedding coordinator as many of the larger resorts do have staff onsite that can do everything for you. But if you are looking for a ceremony off property somewhere, then a coordinator will definately help (make sure to find someone who has the proper permits for beach weddings as not many do).

I'm not aware of anyone who will package air, hotel and wedding all into one (we usually do the air/hotel as a package and then work with the WC to do the ceremony stuff). But a good TA could help you keep it simple for you and your guests. If you try to piece it all together seperately on your own it could make you crazy wink.gif Especially if you've never been there before.

Welcome! My advice is definitely do research, you can almost always find a better price!!! Also, talk to a travel agent. Even if you end up booking online, they will be able to get you started. Plus if you do use one, they organize everything for you! It was the best thing I did! Good luck!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
