OOT Bags or Favors....or both

Recommended Posts

OOT bags can get pretty expensive. I plan on spending around $20/OOT bag. I figure people are spending lots of money to come and share our day with us so it is the least we can do to show our appreciation.

You could definately make these bags for cheaper though and even if you decide to not make them at all, guests won't know the difference.

I have to agree with jetsbride. It is a way of thanking everyone for coming all that way. It can be as expensive or cheap as you want it. For us the most expensive thing was the bag, but I know some bride have used paper bags in their colors, or even plastice bags in their colors. I tried to include things I thought would be handy and that people may forget and be able to use. I opted out of the travel mugs as almost everyone I know has them, they just need to be told to bring them. So these are things they will use throught their trip and at home, but the favors are special thank yous for the wedding. A momento of the occassion. I did not spend more than a dollar on anything else. Ok I may have gone a little crazy at the end, but I love my oot bags and had a lot of fun making them. I will be bringing them with me. I am thinking of packing an extra suitcase (one that is no good anymore, wheel casing broken) and leaving it down there. I am almost positive I will be overweight! So I will pay the extra on the way down. I don't think I will need to bring it home again.

I am only going to do the OOT bags and allow those to serve as favors for the guests that attend our DW, but I will have favors for all of the guests at our AHR. I think that doing favors and OOT bags is a bit much, and most of my guests are "heavy" packers anyway and I don't want to weigh anyone down with a whole bunch of ex stuff to take back to the states.  We are getting married in Jamaica, the trip alone is going to be enough for most of my guests so I will be sure to include a thank-you note in the OOT bag to show my appreciation for them attending our wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
