Trying to get prego on wedding night/honeymoon?

So my fiance and I talked about trying to get prego on our wedding cruise. I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter named Annabelle which will be his step-daughter. He loves her so much and she just adores her!

Has anyone else talked about trying right away or are you waiting?

I have always wanted a 'wedding night baby." We are still debating. I have a 10 month old son who at the time will be 13 months. When I was prego I was high risk and on disability from 16 weeks on, and not allowed to lift over 5 lbs. I feel like it would be unfair to my son that I wouldn't be able to carry him around as much as he would like. I guess he would be almost 1 and a half at that point that I would be on disability again. Hmmm.........now you have me thinking again....

it would really all depend if it was your ovulation time, women can only get pregnant about 2 1/2 days per month so if you are lucky enough to be ovulating on your wedding day then you could easily get pregnant. However there are quite a few threads on baby making on the honeymoon, as many girls on this forum did get pregnant on their honeymoon or shortly after.

FH and I are not currently looking at having children right away. Also, due to some health problems, I kind of have to discuss my conceiving time with my doctor.

If this is something you and your FH want, then go for it! I wish you the best of luck and hopefully this is something that happens for you!

You have a window of almost 4 days when you could get pregnant surrounding your ovulation (and this could be slightly shorter or longer depending on your body chemistry and anatomy as well as the type of ovulator you are! haha). IF you had a 2 week honeymoon and didn't have your period for any of that time, (and you have a regular 28ish day cycle) and you had sex regularly for those two weeks, you would have a reasonable chance of catching a time when you were potentially fertile.. haha you have a chance! Obviously that doesn't always make it happen, but it is possible! I have seen women in my clinic who have gotten pregnant at the strangest times in their cycles, so to some extent it's unpredictable.. but fun to think about!

We're thinking about stopping "not" trying while we're away.. we'll see though.. :) good luck to everyone!

On another note, I love seeing past brides with pics of their babies/gestational counters.. it's a reminder of ALL of the good things that are coming up for all of us! so excited!

I know I'll be ovulating before while we're in Hawaii- probably before the wedding (which shouldn't stop us from trying, right?). Right now we're not TTC, as my FI puts it, we're "practicing" for TTC (hey, however he needs to think of it is fine by me). If I mention actually TTC, he gets skittish, but if it just happens, it's not a big deal for him...

Scuba - Like some of the others have mentioned, you may want to reasearch ovulation calendars a little more before thinking a wedding cruise baby may be possible. I wish you luck - but there's just as much timing necessary as there is luck.

We will be "trying" during the cruise and after :) When it happens it happens like you ladies say. It seems exciting to say we will start trying once we are married. And to all the ladies with having some difficulty getting prego or had problems in the past I am sending "baby vibes" :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
