I'm using the resort photographer too... at first I wasn't thrilled with his quality of work, but I recently contacted him asking for a price list and he sent me some newer photos and I think he's really improved!! Check these out:

I know there are photographers capable of much more artistic and beautiful shots, but I think I will be happy with these! All my guests will take a TON of photos also!

I have more photos than this if anyone wants me to email them??

Do you know if ROR bakes specialty wedding cakes or if there is just a standard one that everyone gets?
I read somewhere... maybe another bride's review on trip advisor?? ... that they have the standard rum cake but have different flavour options also, I think this bride went with a fruit cream? and said it was really good? Sorry, don't remember where I read that and just going from fuzzy memory! Maybe email Chandlyn this one!

Heidi are you going to pay the vendors fee or contact Riu again and see what they say?

He sounds as if he is playing no games and will have the photographers removed from the resort. What should we do?
I wrote an email to the Riu Wedding Sales Office, who had told me I can have a photographer, asking her if I do need to pay that fee to Michael. I will post their response on here!

Hi Ladies,

I am also using the resort photographer. I still need to contact him for an updated price list and then I'll just make sure that I make a list of some must take shots. I'm not really worried - plus like someone said, all of your guests are probably going to be taking pictures too. I have plenty of time for that.

Cakes -I heard a few people say that the wedding cakes are not that great. I'm debating whether to upgrade to the large cake for $250? Is anyone doing this??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
