his prices have not increased yet. Michael told me they should be changing in a few weeks... anyway my wedding is before yours; you think we'd get the same rate, right?! wink.gif

Heidi...Here are the e-mails with Michael. His responses are bolded. Let me know if you need anything else.

Hello! I understand that you have a contract with RIU OchoRios for all wedding picturs. My fiancee and I would really like to bring the photographer from home that we have been working with. I wanted to see if there was any way that we could ngotiate to make that happen. We would still be interested in using you for our wedding video. Please let me know if ther are any terms in which we could make this happen. I would really appreciate your help.

due to hotel and PHOTOSHOP restrictions, outside professional

photographers are not allowed to work on the property ground.

I can offer you to arrange the basic package with us (US 150$) and I

would then arrange your favourite photographer to be allowed to take

pictures.

Do you like that agreement?

I understand that you have an agreement with the hotel. Would you allow another photographer to come if e still paid you the $150 package and book you for videography. I do understand that you are trying to

make a living. I would really appreciate any lexibilty here. The photographer would be staying at RIU.

like I stated it in my answer from this morning, I would allow this

with

the booking of the basic package of US150 US

and vbideography.

Lets get together when you reach the property - lets meet at the

PHOTOSHOP and finalize it then!

Question for all of the ROR brides... Is anyone using the resort photographer? I feel like I am the only one and am now nervous about it. Pictures were never that important to me, but reading all these posts and looking at the professional photographers pics on here are making me change my mind.

I personally would not have been happy with Michael, but photpgraphy was the most important thing to me. I almost didn't have a DW, because I thought my photographer only shot local. If photography is not the most important thing to you, you will be fine with Michael. Just make sure that your are very clear about what you want. From the pictures I have seen, he did the best when brides communicated with him, rather than just letting him do his own thing. You will also need to consider how much time you want on your wedding day. Since they do 3 weddings a day, you will not be able to have him for the day.

Heidi are you going to pay the vendors fee or contact Riu again and see what they say?

He sounds as if he is playing no games and will have the photographers removed from the resort. What should we do?
I just can't believe that they would remove a hotel guest from the grounds that is staying on property. I could be wrong though. Heidi & Taherrah - I'd definetely follow up with Chandlyn on this as soon as possible.

Thanks for your responses girls. I had always planned on using the resort photographer, but with so many on this forum using outside photographers, I started to worry that I wasn't doing the right thing. Now I feel better about my decision and will stop stressingsmile36.gif Also, I'm definitely making a list of the pictures I want. Mo - I think I know what bride you're talking about who loved her pics but that I didn't...I did look like that was what she asked for.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
