gel nails

Recommended Posts

I wear gel nails ALL the time... they are fantastic. I have never experienced yellowing, or any issues at all.. I know they aren't good for your real nails, but they look great - and I feel great about them.

No complaints here.

I've used gel for years - gel won't yellow (acrylic does) and actually does not damage the nails if it's done right. All the nail tech should do is file the top layer of your nail with a nail file and they should never use a drill - everything should be done by hand.

Alright ladies, it's time for an update!

I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THESE THINGS!!! A few hours after I got home after getting them done, I noticed some whitish spots on the edges of the nails. I realized that I could lift the gel off. That happened to one nail. Now, it's been a week, the white has chipped off one whole nail and is lifting on about 7 of my fingers. I dunno if the girl didn't do it right or something, but it's so annoying. I've tried calling a few times and left messages with people to discuss the issue and have the owner call me back, but she hasn't yet. I plan on calling again today, and if I don't talk to her, I am stoping by after work. I don't think this is acceptable to be coming off in a week. They don't look nice at all anymore when looking closely. I'm not sure what they'll do for me, but I hope it's something good. Anyway, it seems like I'm the only one with this problem, so please girls, who haven't tried them, don't be afraid, it's probably just me! lol Just thought that I would let you all know!

Lisa, she didn't do them right. My moms best friend is a nail tech (she only does gel) and I asked her about it on facebook chat- they didn't put a thick enough layer on gel on when she did them. My moms friend puts a very thick layer on and then thins it by filing them down. Your girl probably did a thinner layer and didn't thin them with a file.

I just called and couldn't talk to the owner but I talked to someone else. I told her what was happening and she didn't know anything about it because she doesn't do nails, sheesh! Anyway, I can't get an appointment until next tues, and she's like, "it's for a fill right?" and i'm like, "no, I don't need them filled, I need them fixed because they aren't done right - you dumbass" (ok, I didn't say that part, but I really wanted to!!). anyway, I plan on stopping by either tonight or tomorrow to show them and I either want my money back or fixed for free, whatever. I'm upset now and it pisses me off! sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
