Sandals allows outside photographers!

Recommended Posts

Great news that I just received this morning! Sandals will allow you to bring an outside photographer ! Please note that they have to be a guest at the same resort as the couple and for most properties the minimum stay is 2 or 3 nights!

Good Morning Jennifer,

If the wedding couple has a guest staying on our property we will allow them to take wedding photos. They must be a full paying client at the resort in which the couple is staying in order to be granted permission to take photos.

Warm Regards,

Susan

That is great Jennifer...but I contracted with Tropical Imaging to do my photos. Will they allow them to also come on site? I think it would be unfair if they allowed some vendors in but denied others. I would be even willing to pay a fee to allow them on property as doing my pictures offsite I will not get to capture pictures of my getting ready for my big day or pictures during my ceremony. This would really make my life alot easier if they will allow Tropical Imaging onsite.

Thanks, TA Jennifer!

Unfortunately, since I didn't think their rule on outside photographers was going to change anytime in the near future, I've already done research and have begun beefing up plans to do wedding photos after the ceremony off the resort -- BUMMER!

But, that's awesome that you got clarification and passed on the information to all of us! You ROCK, and keep up the great work!

Hi Ladies!

I've received a lot of emails from this post today and I just want to clarify-

This is a huge concession for Sandals and they are not announcing it -just doing a slight change of policy.

Originally is was no outside photography -at all, didn't matter if it was a guest or not. Now they are loosening the policy to say that if you have a guest staying at the resort that they can take photo's of teh wedding without any hassle.

They are not allowing photographers onsite for the day, for a fee -at least not at this time.

If you want to bring an outside photographer you would have to have them stay at the resort, as a full paying guests ( hence not as a day pass guest) for the minimum nights required (varies by property and season).

I would contact your TA and have them flag the photographers booking with the WC.

Yes, this does apply to Beaches!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
