I have really bad lighting in my bedroom so I can't do pics in there, but I just thought about it, maybe I could just skip out on the headboard pics and put out a duvet and what not on the floor!!!

I'm planning on just doing like his fav lingerie I have, and his shirts, and just the sheet, etc.

Thanks girls for inspiring this new idea!

check out ModelMayhem.com if you want to find a more amateur photographer who may do it for free/cheap. My friend is a photographer on the side and she finds people on there to do free photo shoots all the time. I would just make sure you be careful(as with anything of this nature, craigslist could be dangerous too) that you have a friend with you or meet the person first to make sure you are comfortable and will be safe.

Jacilynda, I think that sounds like a great idea! Who says you have to be conventional and take the pics on the bed. The floor, a coach...maybe even a table..lol. I plan on using some of his shirts or maybe just one of his beloved yankee jerseys!! See..we inspire eachother :)

Future Mrs. Kt Ellis - thanks for the tip. That's sounds like a great site to know, especially for us DW brides whose budget seems to be going fast..like me..lol...gosh, who says DW are easy..lol

Guys! I took the DIY BD pics of my best friend last night......they turned out AMAZING. We even took some in her garage on this mirror and they turned out so cool and rustic looking! I might post a few but she is a teacher and I know she wouldnt feel comfortable with showing any of her face, etc. The pics are on my home computer and I'm at work... Next week after he wedding is over if you want to PM me I can send a few examples...i might post a few where she can't be identified.

She has an amazing body, which made things a lot easier, so truthfully, the DIY saved her like $300 dollars and I think her FI will be just as blown away!

My body is so average, so the draw of a professional BD photog is that he could photo edit to make me look better :)

There was a post a while ago from a BDW member who DIY'd her BD pics. She totally did them herself using her camera & her timer. I can not for the life of me remember who it was, but I'll try to find that thread since she did post some pics. They came out great & you would have never known that she did them herself.

Also, there's another thread around where someone posted websites that had inspiration poses. It was posted in a BD related thread. Definitely do a search for BD here on the forum & you may find that one too.

DIY BD pics are a great way to save some cash while still creating something super special for your FI. And I'll be honest with you -- I think any man would LOVE to have a set of sexy pics from the woman he loves, professional or not! wink.gif He'll be so smitten over the pics, he won't even know the difference. msnwink.gif

Because I did two BD sessions I think the keys to getting great pics are:

1) Good makeup and hair -- if you don't feel confident in doing it yourself then get it done at a makeup counter! But also doing it on your own will keep you shoot fresh and natural, which often times is the look men love the most rolleyes.gif If you can have different looks in your pictures -- a natural look, then heavier makeup in some (this can be as easy as darkening your eye shadow and changing your lipstick color).

2) Good lighting -- I've seen my photographers become giddy when there's good light, especially natural light. Lighting can make such a huge difference in the way pic turns out -- clarity and tone of your skin, also can add a great feel to your pics.

3) Photos with creative angles -- if you have body issues (I do, like most women) a photograph taken from a good angle can make a world of difference. Having difference perspectives also adds dimension to your pics, which in the end will make for a great BD book!

4) Outfits that make you feel sexy -- I bought my stuff at Fredericks, Burlington Coat Factory, Kohls and then used one of FI's jerseys. You don't need to splurge, some of the lingerie I wore ranged from $5.99 to $50. Buy stuff you can use again so it doesn't become a one-time piece.

5) Have fun and look for poses you like ahead of time. If you're comfortable is makes a huge difference in your pics -- they will ooze sexiness and passion, but best of all you will look beautiful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
