When did you know he was the one?

Recommended Posts

I have not seen this posted yet and I am sure it has but its always fun to find out when you knew he was the one.

I had a long day and was getting very frustrated fast. I was trying to get Annabelles room together since she was with her father and that was the only time I could get things done. Adam kept on bugging me and bugging me. I gave him the signal meaning I need space. He left for a few minutes came back. OMG I almost peed my pants. He came prancing in Annabelles room with red boxers and his black Nike socks pulled all the way up singing "If you want my body and you think Im sexy come on girl let me know". He made my day and I knew he was a keeper.

Aww Scubadiva that's so cute!

When DH and I were dating close to a year he invited me to his annual family reunion. No one ever brings significant others to the family reunion unless it's some sort of serious relationship...it's kind of like an unspoken rule in his family!

The first time we talked on the phone. Nice voice, same demented sense of humour and sarcasm for miles. I knew he was the one for me! LOL

PS. He wore decent shoes on our first date, so that sealed the deal. Hahaha

There were a couple of moments that kind of sealed the deal but the one that stands out the most is when he dressed up with me on Halloween! Halloween is my favorite holiday and I thought he might be too "cool" to participate. To my surprise he was totally game and we were a cowboy and saloon girl! In addition to that, I had a little too much to drink that night and he held my hand as a vomitted out of his car window. LOL!!! TRUE LOVE!

OMG, ok...I rofl'd when I read this! DH does that exact same thing to me ALL THE TIME lmao. I always thought it was just one of his little weird quirks but maybe it's a guy thing? haha I love it though! rofl.gif Great thread!

I can't really pinpoint what made me know for sure, I just had a gut feeling pretty much from the first time we met that he was special. For me, it's a lot of little different things that make me go "ah yeah, that's why I love him so damn much!" cheesy.gif

Nope I guess we both got the weirdo's :) Kidding. His totally nerdy/goofy side always gets me. I do have to say though when he is in uniform for the fire dept I cant keep my hands off him. I think it was pretty noticeable at the fireworks, oops!

Gosh I love all these stories! Keep them coming! I love to hear how all of us BDW knew that man we are marrying/married was the one :)

After about 2 weeks of dating (that's right, 2 weeks), we were sitting on the couch listening to music and Jim said to me, " i have to tell you something...I can't hold it back anymore...I've been dying over here....I am totally in love with you Michele"

I was in a little bit of shock and didn't say anything right away, but I turned down the music so I could gather my thoughts...I felt the same way but had thought I was nuts for feeling the same way about someone so soon...we'd been basically inseparable since we'd met (we also went to high school together - see my engagment story)

When I didn't say anything he started apologizing, saying he was sorry for freaking me out and scaring me, but that was how he felt, and he had to tell me.

That was when I knew - there were no games, no pretenses, just a guy able to tell me how he felt...and I started crying and I told him the truth, that I felt the same way...and then he started crying...and we got engaged 2 weeks later!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
