When did you know he was the one?

Recommended Posts

For me, it wasn't really one moment, but a series of moments. I knew that DH was the one for me when he was ok with me being me...sounds stupid but for a few years before we met, I kept trying to fit into a mold to be with the guys that I dated, and I felt like something was inherently wrong with me when I just didn't fit! Early on in our relationship, DH invited me over to his place and made me a "no-reason cake" - we decorated it with all this crazy icing and gummy bears, lit some candles and took some pictures. It was so goofy but we still do it now every once in awhile! Also early on, I had a health scare and was pretty shook up. He called me and asked me to get dressed up for dinner as he was taking me to the Calgary Tower. I'd never been there and was really excited. As we were sitting there in the revolving restaurant, we just looked into each other's eyes and all of a sudden he said "aww! You are going to fall in love with me!!" And I totally did :) Sounds cheesy but it was totally a moment where I was like, "yup buddy, hook, line and sinker!"

My husband of 21 years had passed away from brain cancer, and I was devastated. I decided after 18 months of caring for him, and making it through a huge funeral that I was going to travel and date casually. I needed to find myself again. For the first time since I was 17, I was not looking for love at all. I went on a dating web site, and my arranged to meet Jeff at a nice restaurant near my house. He pulled up in his 1988 black Mercedes with screechy brakes, hopped out with the cutest smile on his face, and handed me a bouquet of flowers. I saw that dimple in his left cheek, and within 15 seconds I was almost in love. During dinner I sat on his left side, and the dimple worked its magic, and I was totally in love. It was love at first sight. I fought it for months, then I finally confessed one night that I loved his dimple...I mean him. He fell in love with me a little more slowly. Ironic that he was looking for love after being divorced for 2 years, and I was running away from it, and I was the one that fell first.

We dated for a short time and broke up because we lived so far away from each other. I started dating someone else a few months later and right away felt like everything was wrong with the realtionship and it just wasn't the same as it was when I was with Randy. We got back together a few weeks later and everything was perfect as if we had been together forever. I knew he was meant to be mine forever!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
