A lot of questions about wedding in TC

Morning ladies!

my head is about to explode as I've been researching and looking for info about wedding in TC. wedding is set for Dec. 12 of this year (yeah, 5 months away!). We are looking into staying at Villa del Mar and there will be 15 guests coming. So far, this is all I've got. I don't know where to have a ceremony and reception.

For a welcome dinner I was thinking of having a bonfire BBQ with Kissing fish caterers. Is it a long distance from Villa del mar, which is right next to the Grace bay resort, to the BayBistro? any other ideas anyone has about it?

another questions, I was under impression that unless you stay at the hotel, say Grace bay, you can't have weddings arranged there? is it right? can I still have a ceremony on the beach if I don't stay at the Grace bay?

I'm in process of contacting wedding coordinators but haven't heard anything from any of them... while I'm waiting for a response from them, I hope someone can give me any advice.

another question, has anyone had a reception at Grace bay? I know they are expensive, but how expensive? what a dinner for 17 people would roughly be?

Hi,

Villa Del Mar is about 1-2 miles from Bay Bistro at the most. You can most certainly have a ceremony and reception on the beach whether you are staying on the beach or not. There are plenty of public beach access points. The Villa Del Mar has a section of beach where they set up their lounge chairs etc on the beach for their guests and I am sure you could do it there as well.

A Bonfire barbecue with Kissing fish is a great option for rehearsal, Joan and Clive do a fabulous job. I don't know the costs on a reception at Grace Bay Club, as there are many options for food/cake/etc, so that will affect your bottom line.

Check out the various coordinators, or contact GBC with your questions.

Have to run right now, but will check in in case you have any other T&C questions. Our office is in the Grace Bay area and we have lived there 15 years, so ask away!!!

I decided to go directly through my hotel (Regent Palms) and they have there own coorrdinator but before I was sure I had spoke with Nila Destinations and they were great getting back in touch with me. Seems e-mail is the fastest way. This the Rosalinds e-mail: [email protected]

Try her she was very good and I have heard that Nila has a great reputation.

Good Luck.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
