Danielle, that is awesome. I wish i had your organizational skills. Mind you, it might have helped if we hadn't decided, hmmm ... 2.5 months ago, to have a DW in January 2010!

Ladies, i have my first appointment tomorrow, wish me luck! Though i was in the Le Chateau warehouse store today and found this awesome strapless, empire waisted, A-line short length dress for $10! Can you imagine? If it had been down to the ground, i would have bought it and called it a day!

Thanks! Fingers and toes crossed i have the same good luck!

It's amazing how you can have a set, defined idea of what you want in a dress, and end up liking different styles as well once they're on you! Talk about confusing things :) I'm taking a wee road trip down south to see if i have any more luck south of the 49th :P

Any of you ladies doing a TTD session? And if so, how many of you are using your actual wedding dress? Or buying a cheaper second one?

I am doing the TTD. I did get abother dress to use but after talking to the ladies in the bridal store I think I am just going to use mine. They relaxed my nerves that it won't actually ruin it and I should still be able to use ut again if I have an AHR, as long as I get it cleaned!

I haven't really decided yet seeing as my aunt has made my dress and i'm not sure I want to do this. Maybe if my aunt isn't coming to the wedding...lol. I really can't to go out and find something cheap in my size so I honestly don't know. I would really love to do one, but I'll see I guess.

That's true. As far as I know, TTD sessions aren't as strenous as an Iron man triathalon :P As far as getting wet, will you have it dry cleaned / cleaned at the hotel before you bring it home or hang to dry?

That is so true about not actually wrecking it. I love the idea of having fun photos taken in the dress you actually got married in.

I'm stoked to report i found a dress, finally! I couldn't decide between these 2 styles:
David's Bridal - Satin A-line gown with twist strap detail, ruched waist, and bow in back.

David's Bridal - Chiffon soft A-line with beaded lace on empire waist and back train

In the end, the strapless won out (chiffon vs. a heavier satin, so i can use it in the TTD!). If the strapped v-neck had been a lighter satin, chiffon, taffeta, i would have bought it hands down!

Now, onto the other 99 things :P

I love that dress too Joss! So pretty and will perfect for a DW!

On another note, I need your advice ladies. So, I've been working with the caterers on finding a private villa for our ceremony/reception. Long story short, the one they found is very beautiful, and since there was nothing else out there, I decided to go ahead and say yes to it. We were about to send in our deposit, but my mother had a little accident so it delayed us sending it. Meantime, I got a call back from another villa owner saying their place may be available. Now, I'm afraid to tell the caterers that we found another villa (which is bigger, on the beach, and exactly what I had envisioned) and will not be sending them money for theirs! We still want them to cater our wedding, but they have been so patient and understanding about my mother, etc.

I just don't want to piss them off! I feel so bad about this, but in the end, I want the other villa. We communicate by email, and I'm going to have to send one explaining what has happened. UGH, I dread this!

Do any of you think this is really bad of me? I plan to apologize profusely to them since they have been so nice. Any suggestions? I just hope they don't think I was lying about my mom, etc. So stressed about this!

Thanks for listening ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
