Interested in becoming a TA

I am hoping the TAs on this forum can help me out. I have had a strong interest in becoming a TA for quite some time, but have never acted on it. Now I'm realizing that I should stop ignoring what I really want to do and figure out how to make it happen. Unfortunately, I don't know the first thing about getting into the business. I would like to one day own my own business, but would like to start off working for someone to get the proper training and experience.

So what do the TAs recommend? Are there courses I should take? I'm so lost. TIA!

I haven't yet. I figured she was quite busy and decided to see if any TAs on here would respond to this thread first. If I don't hear from anyone in a few days, I'll definitely send her a PM.

It's funny how many girls on here decide to go into their own business after they get married. It is really inspirational! Thanks for the words of encouragement Alyssa!

Ooo I would love to hear all about this. I used to be a TA for SatoTravel and then went to the airlines and I would LOVE to be a TA and have my own business as well. I really considered it just after Cattie was born but didn't know where to go w/ it and with being a new mom and wedding plan I never really took the time to look into it!

Wow this is a great thread! I keep talking about wanting to be a travel agent as well. All our family always comes to us(me) to get them the best deal and do their travel arrangements for them. Heck just today I had to tell my travel agent about a deal I found:) I love helping people out with their travel needs and think it would be a great idea. I thought about doing it part time but I know it would interfer with my current job because I know how quickly pricing can change and I would want my clients to get the best rates.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
