BDW brides selling their dresses

Recommended Posts

I REALLY hope this isn't against the rules or anything! (if it is I'm sorry mods! just let me know!)

I have a few friends getting married, and some are planning to buy second hand dresses, and some are planning to sell their dresses after they get married. I know one of my friends is having a terrible time trying to find a dress on Ebay/craigslist etc., and I was wondering if it would be appropriate to use this thread for BDW brides who want to sell their wedding dress? You could post pics etc?

(and to keep it from being overrun by sellers, non brides, maybe we could make it so no noobs can sell? only people who have posted and participated in the site)?

I have nothing to buy or sell, but i am looking for a dress, and my friend really inspired me, so i hope this is ok! and if not, I'm sorry!

Hi! I think this thread is a good idea...a central place for brides to post their dresses for sale!

I would like to sell my dress if there is a bride interested in it, then hopefully we can negotiate a price.

This is my dress:

Maggie Sottero Carla in Pearl color with Ivory accents.

And here it is on me:

Here's the train:

And here it is bustled:

It has a simple 3 point bustle. It was taken in at the bust since I had lost weight in my chest and it was a little too big and needed to be altered. The length has not been altered, I am 5"5 without shoes and I wore 3 inch heels which put me at 5'8 all dressed up. It was the perfect length with those shoes on. It is a size 8 but has a corset closure to accommodate for someone a bit bigger or smaller than that.

I think I'll also make my own thread for this. :)

I am also selling my wedding dress -

It is an Alfred Angelo size 6, but I had it tailored down to fit me - I wear about a size 4 street clothes and am 5'3" (but was tailored with heels).

It is white with an organza material, some crinolin in the skirt (not much) - it is pretty lightweight feeling. The dress originally had a very short train, but I had it taken off.

There is beading along the top, some at the waist, and along the zipper on the back.

I wore it for less than 1 hour in a church, it was my 2nd dress - so I wore the other dress for the rest. It is essentially in perfect condition and I can have it dry-cleaned before sending it out.

If anyone is interested, make an offer :).

I can also send more pictures if you want.

I think its a good idea to have thread just for dresses for sale. I think there are alot of girls trying to sell their dresses from way back.

I became a 2 dress bride so my first dress is still for sale. I'm asking $150 but open to offers.

I am also selling my first dress, is a Madeline Gardner size 8 unaltered, still at the Bridal Store at McAllen, TX. I am willing to pick up and ship it personally if somebody is interested. I paid 1300 USD for the dress and I can hear offers.

Here are the pics from the model:

And here is on me ( size 6) but I ordered a size 8 because the lady at the bridal salon recommend it in case it needed to be altered.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
