Thanks for your review! It was very helpful! We are getting married in November!  I'd love any pics you could send me dianaambler@hotmail.com

We have an Air Transat package as well and you mentioned that for the palapa you had to pay the beach menu for everyone. How much did it cost per person?

@DianaKeelon -  the palapa is $11050 to rent and $350 per person for the menu and you get open bar for 4 hours. There is an additional upgrade if you want the surf n' turf or the lobster but I can't remember what it is. I though it was expensive expecially because we are in an all inclusive restaurant, but we were really happy that did it. We had a wonderful time.

Hi Everyone

Am so glad I found this forum. My daughter Danielle  is getting married at GS on 15th July and as she is busy finishing her law degree me and the bridesmaids (her sisters) are busy working out all the things we have to do before her big day. There are a total of 38 of us coming out for 2 weeks beg 6th July and are now all getting really excited.

We have just booked the Palapa for the reception and Aroceli has proposed we have the wedding at 4pm and the reception at 6pm.

Do you think these times are good - does it allow time for photo's - and also is there still plenty of sunshine at that time of day or does it tend to cloud over (sorry seems a silly question but its one my daughter as asked).

Also we were planning on using the onsite photographer but after reading some of your threads - am a little worried.  Does anyone have any good experiences with the onsite photographer????? or should we really look outside???

Be grateful for any advice/ info that anyone has.

Thanks

Lesley

hi there

@kbodchil  i have booked the platinum package through the GS and the palapa is included with menu for 10 people and extra for additonal guests. I have to pay extra if i want lobster as well. I was originally having the gold package but the palapa is not included so i upgraded.

We had our wedding and reception at the same time, and the sun starts to go down by 5:30 p.m. We found that we had enough time for photos, but the photographer we brought in was fast (he's a news photographer during the day). You could always do shots before the wedding, or the next day if you don't have enough time.

I wouldn't recommend that on-site photographer, but you've probably already seen my comments about that. The photos we got are basically useless. Also, there are a few different photographers who run out of the same shop -- so perhaps one of the other photographers were better? We had the female, but I know there is a male, too.

Have fun -- it's a beautiful place to have a wedding!

@Corbeil: Thanks for the wonderful review! I enjoyed reading about your experience! I have only two questions, really: Overall, were you happy with how things turned out (sounds like you were :) ) And how did your guests like the experience?

PS. I saw your other post! Love the mugs and the shot glass! Am so frustrated that I can't download anything... arghh!!!

@Kbodchill: yes overall I really enjoyed the wedding. I was really happy that we rented the palapa, I think that really made the experience for us. All of our guests really enjoyed the wedding location and the palapa as well and the dinner was great. Personally I wondered if I could have done things differently (like an outside photographer or rented the palapa for 1 more hour), but that is always hindsight. I really did think that it was beautiful!

I am sure you will have a wonderful experice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
