How did the wedding go?! Congrats!!

It was AMAZING!!!  Settling back into life and trying to spend a few moments here and there working on my review. I have so much to say!  There were of course few hiccups/annoying things but all in all this place knows what they are doing.  One thing I will say before getting into my review is that if you can - BOOK THE PRESIDENTIAL PACKAGE!!

Sarah,

I absolutely love your photos and can't wait to read your review.

I know you'll probably answer these questions in your review but just wondering a few things:

Did you get your bouquets made at the resort? What size are they? What were the costs for them?

I assume that you brought some of your own decorations for the ceremony and the reception. What did they charge to set this up for you?

Did you use their paper lanterns? If so were they all one size and how many did you use?

Which meal did you choose for your guests?

Thanks for sharing your day with us!!

Nicole

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi all,

I just got a ton of info from Maria (not sure if she took over for Yeniza, or is another coordinator?) with PDFs of included/extra flowers, cakes, extra costs, presidential package powerpoint- send me a private message with your email if you would like them! Also, I noticed some discrepancies from the original info (only 8 people transfer to the airport, whereas is was 10 when they gave me the info...I think), so I would compare whatever info they give you to the info you received. I also got a review from my travel agent from another bride who recently had her wedding there, so I can share that info too :)

I bought the presidential package two months ago, and in the contract it says transportation for 10

I had 9 people for the airport transfer as my documents stated 10 people were included, when the van pulled up it only had seating for 8 so they had to call for another, not a big deal the other van arrived in only a couple of minutes.  They may have changed it from 10 to 8 so they would only need to use 1 van rather than 2.

I have an odd request for any upcoming brides who are going to the Grand Sirenis in the next few weeks.  Can someone please take some pictures of the wedding coordinators office?  When I was married there last year they asked if they could bring in an outside photographer to take some pictures to use for marketing purposes and I'm curious to know if they used any from my wedding.

Hi I am getting married at the Grande Serenis on the 7th May 2013. I am from the UK and I am a bit confused on what documents I need for the wedding ceremony. Do I need to get birth certificates translated into spanish? Is it easier to have a legal ceremony in the UK and to just have a blessing abroad?

Kristen,

We are getting married legally in Canada before we go as there is a lot of different items that you need for this. We just figured it would be easier than having to worry about it while we are there. At first we didn't really want to do this because we'll have a legal marriage date and then the date of our ceremont but we are just gonig to use the date of the ceremony as our anniversary date!

I know I had read on here that others have done the legal ceremony down there but I don't have a lot of info on it.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
