Well I booked it. Leaving February 27, 2011 married March 2, 2011. I can't believe how fast the time is going. Hopefully I hear from the hotel soon with the wedding options.

That is so great. Did you book your wedding throught the hotel? I decided to use Air Transat. Sure hope it all works out, I haven't found much for reviews from other brides who booked with the airline.

We're doing the air transat package too... the little extras that the package doesn't include is starting to add up, though (judges fees, blood tests, renting the restaurant, dj, centrepieces). Oh well, we only get married once, right? Keep me updated on how your planning is going!

How come you have to pay for the restaurant? Didn't your package come with a dinner?
Posted 05 December 2010 - 11:15 PM
It does, but we wanted to restaurant for ourselves (if we didn't pay to rent it, other resort guests would be allowed in... yuck).

@Melaina: for the restaurant, does everyone have to get the same meal or does everyone get to pick off the menu? I have emailed the hotel, but I am still waiting to hear back. I would like to send out a email about what to bring/expect and I would like to add the menu options if I can.
What restaurant did you decide to go with?

From what Blanca told me, I understand that we have to pre-choose the menu for our guests (boo). We went with the Italian because I thought it looked the prettiest (heh). I heard that the resort will make vegetarian alternatives for any of your guests who don't eat meat...
Have you found out anything about music during the ceremony, live or otherwise? Are you going with the DJ option for post-dinner? The prices she gave me for the Mariachi band seemed high, but I can't get any info on whether they can set up a soundsystem for the ceremony... Grr.

I really haven't got much information from Blanca. We just got the powerpoint to chose flowers and a menu, so we really haven't made it past that in the planning. I emailed her last week with a list of questions and I still haven't heard back. When you pre-choose the menu, do the meals all have to be the same or can you have different main courses? Hopefully I will hear back soon.
