Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I wanted to know if anyone knew the email address of the wedding coordinator for Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya as I'd like to inquire about the packages and costs. I've sent an email through their website quite awhile ago and I still have yet to receive a reply. Any information would be awesome!

Thanks :)

For Melaina or Christie G:

I was able to get Claudia Rodriguez to photograph my wedding next month, which is AWESOME because she does really beautiful work and now I'm even more excited! Araceli told me I had to pay $300 usd penalty fee for not using their resort photographer. Since neither of you mentioned this in your experience, did you have to pay it? It seems ridiculous.

Also, since you've both seen the Italian restaurant up close and the palapa, do you think 18 people would make the restaurant seem empty if I choose a private reception? The pictures on the website make it look huge still, but Araceli keeps telling me it's small enough for 18 people but I have the feeling she might be saying that so that I buy the more expensive package.

Any suggestions would be grand! Thanks girls!

@GSBride2011

That is great that you were able to book Claudia. I was so happy with her and hope you equally as happy. I didn't have to pay a penalty for not using the resort photographer but that being said I never booked them. Had you already booked them? Perhaps its a cancellation fee? I booked Claudia about a year in advance so I told them from day 1 that I was bringing my own photographer.

18 people might make the restaurant feel a bit empty but I personally think that that is better than sharing the restaurant. Not sure what the increased cost is but I think the French restaurant is the smallest.

Hey GS,

I wasn't charged a $300 fee (ouch!), but my photographer stayed at our resort. At first, Blanca thought that our photographer wasn't staying at the GS so she told me I had to pay the $100 visitor's pass to have him onsite -- fair enough, but $300 is RIDICULOUS. I'd fight that one for sure.

I think you could set up the Italian so it wouldn't seem empty... maybe half the restaurant for your tables and half for the dance floor? We had 40 people throughout the whole room, so half of that (and half the room) would look great, I bet. It IS a smaller space -- I was a bit surprised at how intimate it was.

I've attached a crappy photo below to give you an idea of the size -- you're looking at about half of the restaurant.

Thank you so much ChristieG and Melaina for your help and suggestions!

I'm going to fight the penalty fee. I did book them, but there wasn't any deposits or contracts signed and I don't see anything in writing about it.

I was thinking of having the reception on the beach so we can fit the reception to the size of our group, but I'm not sure if it might be too hot at night.

@ChristieG- for the palapa, what was the menu like? How were the mosquitos at night? Do you have any photos of your setup? I'm almost certain it would be too huge for our group, but it's hard to tell from the photos I've seen so far.

GS - I only have a few pictures on my computer so this is the best one I have for now. It was taken by one of my bridesmaids sitting at the head table but it gives you an idea the size of the palapa. The post on the left of the picture is in the middle of the palapa. It also shows the "wrap" around the palapa.

Menu for the palapa - You chose a soup, a salad and then we had a choice between steak or salmon. You then had a desert and they also served the wedding cake.

There were no mosquitoes that I saw and no one complained about any. We saw few mosquitoes on our trip, I had a total of 2 bites in 2 weeks and I was out at night and never wore bug spray.

If you want a better picture of the palapa or if anyone wants a picture of the exterior (I think we have one somewhere) please send me your email address. I have pictures on my husbands computer but for some reason I can't log onto the website.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
