Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

@@RachelDuncan check out my thread. I did a free wedding (no longer an option I believe) but upgraded everything including my reception at the palapa. I have pictures there and it was so amazing. Everything was so beautiful and went off without a hitch! They are really amazing at the Sirenis. I highly recommend the palapa beach for your ceremony and the private palapa for the reception as no other hotel guests can watch everything and it makes it so much more romantic and special for the two of you.

Hey,

We have booked our wedding for the Grand Sirenis on the 25th August 2017, we have decided to go for the presidential package and have been assigned Rodrigo as our wedding coordinator. Has anybody dealt with him?

Just wondering if anyone on here has gone for the presidential package, and have any tips?

Has anybody held their reception on the beach? We are considering the Palapa ATM as I can't seem to find any photos of the beach receptions.

Look forward to hearing back

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

We are getting married in April. We have also booked the presidential package and have Rodrigo as our coordinator. We've not had much correspondence but every time I have emailed he has replied and been very helpful. I don't have to do much till nearer the time!

We have booked the palapa because it looks lovely and private, even though there's only around 20 of us.

I'd just like to ask everyone a question about photographers! I have had lots of quotes but they are so expensive. I am debating borrowing a friends very good camera and getting others to take shots. Any one got advice/experience for me please?!

Thanks,

Keely.

Hi Keely,

I'm getting married Jan 2017 and you are right in saying the wedding coordinator contacts you closer to the date as this is what is happening with me now. Rodrigo won't be you're actual coordinator as he assigns one about 2 months before the wedding.

As for photography I had a heart attack when I was getting quotes and the FI put a stop to spending that much. I got in touch with a photographer who was reasonable but with the penalty fee of bringing her on resort it was again too expensive. She told me every bride deserves professional photography and offered a package for a couples shoot in our wedding gear a couples days after our wedding ceremony in Playa deal Carmen for a fraction of the price ($500 USD). So we are doing the friends and family thing for the day of the wedding and the couples shoot a couple days later. Hope this helps!

Hey some new brides!!! Yay!!

I didn't have the presidential package but I did upgrade to the palapa and it was beautiful. I can't even begin to describe how perfect it is for a wedding celebration. I am not sure I recall a past bride on here who used the beach sorry!!

Photography was hard for me. I'll start off by saying that when I used Adventure Photos in Jan 2015 they were SOO much cheaper than they are today. That said, at first I didn't really think photography was important to me so I booked an hour then changed to 3 and ended up with 7. I honestly look at my photos daily and am so happy I got them.

But I totally understand the cost and the budget. I was a budget bride 100% but like I said I paid $1600 US for 7 hours. (Typing that made me cringe)

My photographer isn't there anymore but has her own company with her husband - Cielito Lindo. I can find their webpage (I did a search and it was plentiful ugh) but some others over my time on here that have been reasonable are - Samual Luna, Lancelotti, Bohemia, Dean Sanderson and someone with Nunez in their name ?? Gonzalez maybe.

I searched high and low trust me. It was awhile back and prices change but look at their work and see who connects with you and reach out. You may be surprised. Pick a budget and see what you can find within it. I didn't need 7 hours. With the prices I see today I would have totally just done 3 or so.

Good luck!

Thank you, that's a great idea actually!

January, so not long now! How are you feeling?! Do you have a lot of guests going?

I'm really nervous but excited. I've had a lot of close friends drop out because of Zika virus and them wanting babies soon!

And thank you Calgarybride2015! I'll definitely have a look at those photographers.

I'm really starting to get excited especially know that I'm filling out the paperwork. Time flies by as I felt like we just got engaged. I wish we could afford to book the presidential package but it just wasn't in the budget. We are going with the gold package and just having the reception in the restaurant. The palapa looks beautiful and I would have loved to book it.

We were shocked with how many booked, 53 total including 12 kids. I'm lucky that no one right now is looking to get pregnant so the Zika virus is not an issue. We would like to start a family soon but I was told that you only have to wait 6mos before you try.

Wow 53! That's great. I know, it's put a bit of a downer on it as its some of my best friends but it can't be helped.

I'm lucky as my parents are paying for the wedding and as I think they were expecting a 20k wedding here they were quite happy with the price!! I think the restaurant reception looks lovely too. My main aim was to get married on a beach so I'm happy!

I just want it to be relaxed as I'm a really nervous/anxious person!

A question for past GS Brides. I'm starting to fill paperwork out with all our desicisions and I have a couple of questions.

Flowers, I'm having a hard time picking out flowers for the alter and my wedding party. My colours are purple with accents of orange with a starfish theme. My groom really wants birds of paradise so any orange I'm choosing that. Should my bouquet flowers match the types of flowers that the gazebo is decorating in or is ok to have completely different flowers?

Also I need ideas for decorating the aisle way and tables for the reception. What did you ladies do? I'm trying to keep within a tight budget and I'm not wanting to add to much extras.

Hey, I think if you match your colors and some of the flowers you should be ok. If you pick an accent one - like birds of paradise- but only see it in your bouquet or the alter that would work well.  I wouldn't have roses in your bouquet and gerbers on the alter... I would make sure some of them atleast are in both places.  Also remember if you want a color you don't see in the brochures they can paint them.. in my bouquet the turquoise roses are painted... soooo glad I chose that!

I didn't want the isle runner, but she put it out without me knowing (and for free!!!)  In the end it was super pretty but more than one bridal party member and my dad tripped on it ugh!   Personally I think if you just get one bag of roses for them to sprinkle the isle you will be set!!!  That is under $20 from what I remember.

For decor I was fairly cheap ....  I had 3-6 candles per table, 1 frame, 1 vase....  then we used our bridemaid's bouquets for the centrepieces (I ordered 1 extra to have enough)... my BMs bouquets weren't overly expensive but I asked for a quote for them as I thought the price in the brochures for what I wanted seemed high....  I had 3 gerber daisy bouquets for around $30 each.   A lot of brides also bring fake flowers, and truth be told, you don't need flowers on the tables... Noone cares LOL!!! it's more about you..and if you are comfortable with them not being there.    They will use the alter flowers for your head table and cake table...   I also had a couple frames and a card box for my guestbook/seating chart table.

And PS - my candle holders were like 3 for $1 at Dollarama and my frames with coupon were like $1.50 at Michaels...   Bargain shop and use coupons.

I left everything there....

I would say my most expensive piece was the card box (more like treasure chest) at $15 but I use it now to store all my wedding memories.

Another thing I spent a bit more on was the 'best day ever' banner for my head table... but I opted for heavy cardstock over the wood...  you can make cheaper decisions forsure :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
