Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Hi, can I ask a couple of questions as I'm trying to sort out the form I have to send back.

About the food menus, so with the private menu we have to chose 1 meal for everyone to eat, this isn't going to work as the only meat I like is chicken and I know everyone will prefer steak. So with the bbq menu do you get a selection or do you again have to pick from the different options?

With the cocktail hour, it says everyone gets a glass of sparkling wine and 3 canapés! So to get the cocktail hour what do I have order?

Do I have to put everything additional I want on the form or can I order bits when I get there?

Also, does anyone know the vows for the legal ceremony?

starting to get a bit stressed now

Thanks

Jemma

We have the bbq buffet and there was 3 types of meat if I recall - fish, chicken and steak. (Vividly recall fish had bones in it)

The sparking wine and canapés is not the cocktail hour. That's what comes right after the ceremony. If you want a cocktail hour you have to pay extra and choose what liquor package you want.

Nope don't need everything on the form now. I would suggest you lock in your locations and times but other things can wait. I made choices at our meeting and changed others.

Sorry didn't have a legal ceremony.

Good luck

So a quick Wedding Invitation question. I have sent out my STD and deposits are due beginning of April. As a cost saving measure I was then only going to send out formal invitations to those people that put a deposit down. I wasn't going to include a RSVP because I already know these are the people that are coming but now I am noticing a lot of people still ask for an RSVP.

What did you Brides do? Any advice is appreciated.

I had done it differently and sent formal invitations to everyone way in advance (10 months in advance) as I had already had my travel agent and wedding plans finalized... and in the invite was the date people had to get their deposits in.

im so excited, overwhelmed and tired all at the same time..

anyone know how the spa works?

meaning, do you pay at the spa? do you pay cash, or by credit card if its cash, is it charged in pesos or in cad or in us?

ive been trying to get an answer from my coordinator, but its not clear and were trying to finalize what will be paid where here...

if anyone has any insight !!

@@vivitazy you must be buzzing with excitement!

The spa is pretty simple, your coordinator should make the appointments for you. If not you can call the spa or ask your room

Block concierge to make you an appointment at the spa. When you get to the spa you will fill out a form and the services will just be charged to your room. You will pay when you check out of the hotel. I would assume you can pay in cash if you want but we paid by credit card. The wedding gets paid for during your initial meeting with your coordinator.

Hi Guys!! Just wanted some feedback from you all'

Are you guys doing the cocktail hour after your ceremony? Is it just the champagne and appetizers or is there some other one I am not seeing?

How did you guys find the reception time was, long enough or did you wish you had extended?

Timeline for the day; would anyone mind sharing theirs? What time did you guys start getting ready? My ceremony is at 4:30.

Any idea if the resort allows sparklers or wish lanterns?

I know I have a million questions I am not thinking of lol, starting to panic a bit.

PS. Who did the buffet and was pleased vs the plated meal? Thoughts on that.

Thanks guys:)

@@nkavanaugh I can't answer most of your questions since my wedding isn't until January 2017 but I did do research on sparklers. You cannot transport sparklers on a plane as they are considered a dangerous good. I thought I might just buy some when I got down in Mexico but apparently they are extremely hard to find unless it's a holiday down there.

Are you guys doing the cocktail hour after your ceremony? Is it just the champagne and appetizers or is there some other one I am not seeing?     The champagne and appetizers happens right after the ceremony. If you want an hour of open bar you have to pay for that.  That is what we did...  so champagne toast, then open bar where they had the appis then.

How did you guys find the reception time was, long enough or did you wish you had extended?  I extended mine 3 hours, so in total we had 6 hours.  I can assure you 3 isn't long enough, but you could get away with less than 6. You have a lot of people though so things will take longer across the entire wedding (ie group / family photos, time to eat, speeches, etc.)

Timeline for the day; would anyone mind sharing theirs? What time did you guys start getting ready? My ceremony is at 4:30.  9:00am Me and the 3 BM's went to the spa. I would say we were done by around 1230/1245pm.  Had a quick lunch in the spa restaurant and after waiting for the shuttle, got back to our room around 2pm. Our ceremony was at 3pm so had just enough time to get dressed/take getting ready photos before being whisked off.   No idea when the boys got ready, but they had their photos starting around 1:30pm ish I believe.

3-330pm ceremony and toast

330-4pm group/family photos (have a list for your MC and have them get everyone ready - moves it along quicker and ensures all the must have photos are done)

4-5pm open bar/cocktail hour and bride/groom photos

5-11pm reception (entrance, speeches, dinner, fun game, first dance, dancing, cake, dancing)

Any idea if the resort allows sparklers or wish lanterns?  No idea, I would ask.  Sparklers are hard to come by and as said above are illegal on a plane.  Maybe the WC has a source to get you some. Most brides on here mention their DJ getting them some.

I know I have a million questions I am not thinking of lol, starting to panic a bit.

PS. Who did the buffet and was pleased vs the plated meal? Thoughts on that.  We did the buffet and are super pleased. Numerous meat options, salads, sides, buns, you name it - very good.  Probably the best food of the week!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
