Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

I've got 6 days left until I head to GS! I've got Vania as my WC...she hasn't been that good at responding back quickly but luckily my travel agent at Transat is all over it!

Any last minute pointers from you ladies??

Good luck :)

Just remember to slow down and take it all in as it's over in a flash.

You'll confirm all your details at the on site meeting and don't be afraid to voice what you want etc. They are super accommodating. I'd say my WC was slow too. At first one week replies but they work sooooo hard. You'll see that when you are there. They never stop.

hi everyone,

the days a flying by, religious aspects are covered and now our legal ceremony is dec 19th, and going to GS march 25th

im having trouble figuring what to do,

im looking at the silver and gold packages,

with the silver the reception is only 1.5 hr, and after i would need to do something so do the private cocktail party  and rent the dj a little more cause its juste for 2 hours?

and with the gold package, the reception is 4hrs, but then we are just at the restaurant and then thats it? no dance with the father and after party?

what are you doing ??? i need helllppppp lol

Hello!

Congrats on your upcoming legal wedding :)  December 19 is a special day in our house too - it's my twins birthday!

Here is how I see it, but things could have changed since I got married in January...

with the silver package you basically only get 1.5 hours for dinner and you would need the cocktail party after for dancing and speeches (like you said!)  I believe these are only 2 hour packages, but you could maybe pay to extend it.

with the gold package you get 4 hours in a private a'la carte, so I think most people would do their dancing and speeches in the a'la carte. You could hire to have the DJ in there.  If you didn't think that would be long enough - maybe you could do dinner, speeches, cake cutting, and the first dance in the a'la carte then have the 2 hour cocktail party after for more dancing.

How many people will be at your wedding? Another option is to see if you can upgrade to the palapa. I had the free package but upgraded my location only.  We had the palapa for the rental fee which included 3 hours, but I extended it another 3 hours so my reception was 6 hours long.  We had speeches, dinner, first dance, partying, cake cutting, then more partying! Went from 5-11pm.  I found it was easier because everything just happened in one place.  Noone had to move around and it was more than long enough. Just a thought.   The location is also breathtaking.

Hope that helps some.

thanks for your help,

happy birthday to your kids, i was also a twin :),.

i didnt think you could dance at the restaurant ! but if this is an option i could add the dj, (not sure its worth the $$$ for the dance floor like 600$)  do the cake and speaches,

and after we can just relax i guess

we are not enough for the upgrade to the palapa, would of been great..

i gone email attack on the poor girl at GS, lol

ho well,

:)

Are you close to the people required? If you are, you could just pay for the extras to have the same (I know brides who have done this).

I would assume you would dance in the a'la carte, what would anyone need a 4 hour dinner for?  Maybe I am wrong and another bride can jump in!!! - but if you are emailing attacking her (hahaha love it) you could double check.

That's how I read it when I was planning my wedding though.

PS - you def. don't need a dance floor. We didn't pay for it. People just danced on the regular floor. Good enough and gives you money to spend elsewhere.

I have my WC on my Facebook too, I could ask her if people with the gold package do their dancing at dinner... I'll report back!

From what I can remember the a la carts would not allow you do do dancing or speeches really (with a mic). It was really just a fancy sit down dinner from what I understood and that's why we chose the free and upgraded to the private palapa. I'd check in with the coordinator though instead of taking my word for it haha

Wow what's the point of a private four hour dinner if you can't even use a mic?

Who knew :)

Sorry if I was wrong. I did msg my WC and will see what she says too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
