Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

@@calgarybride2015 Do you remember how many people you needed to have booked into the hotel to get the free wedding?

I'm Canadian and not sure if that makes a difference but it was 10 double rooms booked for 7 consecutive nights.

@@calgarybride2015 I've looked at the packages and didn't see any of them mention palapas. So does that mean that even if we choose the more expensive packages we still would have to pay for a location upgrade, if we want palapas?

And did you have a DJ and a Photographer? Did you hire them outside of the resort?

thank you

The presidential package includes the palapa. I believe the platinum package is the beach but would have to confirm that. It was in my handouts. I could email you them. Gold and down was an ala carte.

I used the resorts DJ and he was awesome. No need to go off site for that.

For photography I used Adventure Photos and requested Perla. She is no longer there but Hazel also had good reviews if he is. If you don't use Adventure Photos you have to pay a $300 usd off site vendor fee.

Hope that helps.

@@calgarybride2015 thanks! I'm sure its the same (we are from the same city hence my name copies yours (yyc = calgary). hopefully I can get 3 more rooms booked (just need my weddng party to book then I'm good).

Do you remember who you flew with? We are flying with Transat and I've never flown with them before.

Also I believe in a previous post you mentioned your bridesmaids dresses were from David's Bridal? Do you mind me asking how much they were? I am going on Saturday to look but they all seem so expensive and I dont want to ask my bridesmaids to spend much considering the cost to get to Mexico.

Hahaha I didn't pay close enough attention to your user name. I apologize.

I flew Air Canada. They had the cheapest package. We got every 16th person free and an upgrade to first class.

Yes all the dresses including mine were from David's. I searched hi and low and couldn't find my color anywhere else in what I had envisioned. So I bit the bullet. They were $160 each but I asked them to pay $120 each. I had guilt too!

@@calgarybride2015 Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can find something at Davids tomorrow. I've picked such a tricky color.

Does anyone know if off-resort guests can get day passes to the resort throughout the week, and if so how much they cost / what kind of access they get?

Also did anyone have people in their wedding party stay off resort. The brochure for weddings say that Guess staying off resort can get a pass for 3 hours before ceremony until end of reception. But we would potentially have 2 people in our wedding party doing this and we'd want them earlier than 3 hours before the ceremony... Any ideas or suggestions? Any info is helpful. Thanks ^_^

I had a groomsman who lived in Mexico!

So the day passes are 6am-2pm or 2pm-6pm which kind of suck! They were around $125 peso but the handouts would confirm.

The wedding pass was 3 hours before until the reception ended. They were about $150 peso maybe?! (I can check my invoice) and they included the wedding meal and 3 hours of booze included in the reception, etc. We extended our reception and we had to pay extra for that for them.

You could probably barter more from them!

We just had them on our bill with their names listed and since I never heard anything I assume they had no issues getting on the resort.

Thanks so much for this information. I will let me wedding party know this. Its helpful for us.

Actually, can you check your invoice for us, it says $1000 pesos for a wedding guest to come from off resort for the day. Seems kinda steep considering its only $125 pesos for the day otherwise.

Hehehe maybe I am thinking in dollars! I probably am but I will check right now. Stay tuned. Ps - I must be because $125 peso is like less than $10 Canadian.

Yes I was thinking Canadian and writing peso. The wedding day pass is $1050 peso.

Hi Kim

A while back you were kind enough to email me across the breakdown costs of your wedding so I could use them in planning my daughters wedding next year.

I went to have a look at your email again today and cannot find it, I must of deleted it by mistake.

Sorry to ask again but could you please send me it again. My email address is davidbrand79@hotmail.co.uk.

Thanks

Dave

Hi Everyone! Just under 4 months for our wedding. We are sending in our final decision on wedding stuff within the next two weeks :)

Quick question - was the flower girl provided any petals to throw as she went down the aisle? If not, I'm thinking of getting her a sign saying something like "here comes the bride.."

The cake they provide - do they provide any additional decor for it like flowers? Did you guys get a cake topper or is it not necessary with the decor added to it?

If I get coral and turqoiuse "confetti" larger than a penny to spread as added color to the tables in reception, will they allow this?

Who takes care of putting out our Thank You's onto each individual place setting? The resort staff right?

Thanks

Marta

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
