Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Hi, Just been reading back on this post and was looking for some advise. Iv just booked this hotel for my wedding going in May 2016 but havent booked the package yet. Im from the UK and have read quite a few people also from the UK have booked throught thomson. The WC has also sent me packages an prices. It seems as though thomson have new prices for 2016 while the WC is still going off 2015 prices. It seems to be working out around £800 cheaper to go with the WC for the presidential package but can i book direct? Thanks x

I don't see why you can't book direct ?!? Here in Canada we had no choice but to book direct. Nice thing with going thru the WC is that you pay today's prices for next year. I married in January 2015 but since I booked in 2014 I got those prices. Maybe just ensure Thomson is ok you book direct but I'm sure I've read on here that ladies do that. Good luck and Congrats

Ye thats what i mean it works out cheaper to go with the WC. I asked the travel agents an they said it was fine to go through the WC but they will have no involvment at all if we dont go through them, which i understand. Was it easy going through email with the WC? Also, i noticed your package was free and then you just upgraded parts? How come it was free if you dont mind me asking? Your wedding was beautiful btw x

I had no issues with the WC. Emails can be slow and up to a week for a response but the poor ladies are run off their feet and have brides at the resort who come first. I personally never had issues and felt it was fine. Their info sheets are pretty thorough and so is this board so that helped tremendously. I suggest emailing numerous questions at once, not one in several emails which may help the process speed up!! Communication is faster the closer you get as you get your personal WC and your priority to them picks up.

The free package is 10 double rooms booked for 7 nights otherwise it's the silver package. I upgraded to the palapa so I had the location upgrade fee, then I had to pay for all their meals. When you upgrade the 10 are no longer included. Since my package was free it was still super cost effective. I priced out all packages and I could never beat the price of just upgrading my location. It was Nice because I got the items I wanted and not all the extra fluff of stuff in the bigger packages I didn't want.

@@calgarybride2015 I noticed earlier on in the thread you sent someone a breakdown of all the things you had to book for your wedding and the price. Could I be cheeky and ask for a copy if you still have it please. We are trying to plan our daughters wedding for next May. Could you send it to davidbrand79@hotmail.co.uk please.

Thanks

Hi Kim, I'm actually in the process of planning my wedding in Mexico as well and almost positive we will be choosing this resort for May 2016.  I stumbled across this website and I must say I've read all that you have to say and wanted to thank you for such detailed information, so helpful! By far my fave GS bride. I did already email GS for some general info and fortunately(for now) they were so prompt in replying. Wedding ceremony(doing religious, what do you think of the church?) and reception decor is quite important to me so I was wondering if you still have any information on the decor like centrepiece pictures, bouquet samples..let's just say whatever additional information you may have kept lol. My email address is sheils.salazar86@@gmail.com.  I would really appreciate it. Your review was awesome, I've def picked up a few tips. :)  -Sheila

Hello,

I can email you what I have, although my spreadsheets on cakes and flowers is outdated, but will give you an idea. They don't have a spreadsheet of centerpieces to my knowledge -- if you sent them a picture or described something you liked they would quote it and give you a comparable picture to what you would get.     I used my bridesmaid's bouquets as my centerpieces and I brought all my own decorations.  My bridesmaid's bouquets was something I had them quote -- 4 gerberas and greenery with white ribbon.

I never went into the chapel but I have seen pictures and they looked beautiful.  The chapel is by the palapa where I had my reception and the scenery is beautiful!  I personally don't feel you can lose here.  Beautiful resort and weddings!

@@calgarybride2015 I've looked at the packages and didn't see any of them mention palapas. So does that mean that even if we choose the more expensive packages we still would have to pay for a location upgrade, if we want palapas?

And did you have a DJ and a Photographer? Did you hire them outside of the resort?

thank you

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
