Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

We are in the process of confirming our wedding at Grand Sirenis for November 2015.

Looking back at everyone else's plans; what are some details that you feel you wished you paid more attention to vs. details and things you paid for that went un-noticed by guests?

Anyone know how many the Palapa can accommodate for guests?

I was originally thinking of a Mint and Grey colour scheme but think adding coral to it might be nice; especially when it comes to picking flowers :)

Thanks Everyone!

Marta

Welcome and congrats!

I am 2 months out so I can't say just yet what was worth it or not, etc. But I'm

Fairly certain the palapa holds a 100 or more.

Go back thru this thread and search on here for other Grand Sirenis posts. They have a wealth of info.

Your color options sound fabulous :)

Are you holding your reception at the Palapa?

Can anyone advise if the Palapa is included in the Presidential Package which states private beach reception? Or if the Palapa is still extra 11,000 (est) pesos?

I'm to impatient to wait for an email back from Travel Agent and Coordinator... ;)

All I can say is try to be patient! I know it's super hard waiting. Communication has been slower than normal since their email crashed mid to late October. Keep persistent and have your TA keep on top of it for now!

Yes I took the free package but upgraded to the palapa for the reception. It's beautiful and totally how I see my destination wedding.

Unless I'm mistaken (or packages have changed) I'm of the understanding that the presidential package is the only one that includes the palapa 100%. Possibly the platinum does too but when I read it that one seemed to be directly on the beach!

If you have any other questions let me know. This thread has been super quiet for awhile now :(

Hi girls, thank you everybody for sharing your ideas and knowledge of everything! You have been amazing helpful and informative!I looked through everything and found so many tips!So my wedding is booked for the 14th February,2015.We already got the confirmation of the day, paid all the travelling cost and almost made all the arrangements. We are a small group of 10 people,we are having renewal of vows ceremony as our official ceremony will be in London. So we are paying £615 for the decorated venue(only flowers on the arch, centrepiece, white gardeno, and white covers for the chairs),cake,my bouquet, grooms buttonhole, toast on the beach.Reception and all extras will be paid after the ceremony and we have to deal everything with the hotel.Somehow when all the bookings were made Kenya became very silent and never answers the email;)So that is my short story;)Would like to ask you related to photography.I got 2 links: 1. http://www.photosincancun.com/category/images/weddings/. And 2. http://www.adventures-photos.com/weddings/. I am actually not happy with both. But probably Adventures are a bit better. Can anybody send me more links of the resort photographers links? I asked Kenya to send me more links and more contacts, but she is silent.By the way,my Wedding coordinator is Kenya Garcia(she was very helpful and nice, but suddenly disappeared).I started correspondence with Maria, then it was Kenya. They seem to change very often.I know there two of them at the moment. As far as I got from this most amazing group the price of the photoshoot for 3 hours is £750.(sorry guys,I am from London, count everything in pounds). If you want your photographer from the outside you pay the fine $300.I still hope those ones are not the only ones available as I want smth more interesting and a bit of Photoshop will be nice too;)))So my questions will be:Has anyone got any replies from Kenya recently(2 weeks)? What photographers are you using?Have you got any more links?Maybe you know what is the difference between Mariarchi group and Mexican trio?Thank you lovelies! And good luck to those whose day is approaching we will need all the detailed report;)Mine will be after Valentine's day;)xxxxx

Welcome!

Their email response has went down hill since their computers crashed late October.  I know other brides, marrying in the next few weeks, who are very frustrated by this.  Kenya isn't a coordinator persay, she isn't the one who is assigned for your wedding day, but she answers all the questions.  Apparently they are so bogged down right now that Liliane (who is a coordinator) is helping her answer emails.  Keep on them!  Have your TA step in if need be.

Adventure Photos is the resort photograher.  Were you told you could use Photos in Cancun as well without paying the $300 outside vendor fee? I am shocked if you say yes! I didn't know this!   I chose to use Adventure Photos but I did some research - I got a lot of links sent to me by Adventure Photos and I picked my favorite work. I then asked who took these photos as the photographers change. I then requested her. I am happy with this decision.   You can email adventure photos directly - do you have their email? They will send you tonnes of their work done at the resort.  I have considered an outside photographer and only a couple peak my interest. I am into clean and crisp, nothing over the top or over edited.

I thought the mariachi and mexican trio were the same thing?? I'd have to go back to my extra price list and see, but I know I booked the 3 man band!

Hope this helps some. Let me know what you were told about photography!

I've seen nothing but positive reviews on the spa so I am using them in January. The fees to bring someone on are pricey as it's per person using their services plus day passes for the hair people. Pricey!

In Canadian dollars bridal hair is around $140 and makeup $85.

Special hairstyle (bridesmaid)! Is about $104.

Adventure Photos is very responsive if you haven't contacted them yet but their prices for photos only start at around $700 for 3 hour and go all way up to darn near $3000. I am using the 8 hour photo only package which is $1600 USA - called emerald package. (About $1800 Canadian)

Hope that helps!

Hi everyone,

Hope your planning is going well. Just to let you know that I am leaving for Mexico on Monday so this will be my last post before the wedding but I will post a full review when I return.

I got an email from my wedding co-ordinater about 3 weeks before our wedding date (10th December) as promised. Then she gave me a call to go through the final details last weekend. I will meet her on our arrival on Monday and plan a meeting to hand over any decorations etc. I thought this was nice - as international calls don't come cheap but she mentioned that their Skype account was having problems at the moment.

Thanks again for all the advice and support, hopefully I can give you some back once I return.

Hayley xxx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
