They had confirmed with me that it would be no problem renting out a restaurant months ago! Now what they are offering is the Palapa which is fine but the are not allowing me to use my Transat package and the extra dinners that I have purchased through Transat towards the dinner in the Palapa. They are also offering  a discount for the meal but are only giving me one entree option, when I know there is at least 5 entree choices. Has anyone else ever had this situation happen to them at GS? Does anyone know how much seating is available at the Health bar or has anyone had their wedding receptions there? Any info or pointers would help. We are leaving to Mexico this Sunday Jan. 27/13

We also booked with Transat but decided originally to upgrade to the Palapa. We are paying an extra 11,000 pesos for the Palapa and also paying for everyones food. 

 

We were given the option of the Beach/Palapa Menu, which has 3 entrees to choose from - Surf & Turf (800 pesos per person), Steak & Panela Cheese or Salmon in clam sauce (both 500 pesos per person), or I just found out we could also choose their BBQ menu which is like a buffet that has chicken, pasta, fish and steak as entrees. Since we are not served the meal, its 350 pesos per person. 

 

Everything is costing us about an extra $2800 CAD on top of our Transat package. Because this was not your original choice or your problem that they over booked, I would definitely not be paying.

 

I don't remember where the Health bar was, is it by the Spa?

Hi, im gettin married on November 23 :), I´m waiting for you review, and all your advices, im most concerned about the decoration, it to simple the decoration that GS provide us, do you recommend me invest a lot on adittional decoration?. And what about the music, im having 120 guest is enought with the GS DJ? or i need get another DJ? .

We're booking our wedding for December 16th, 2013 at the GS. Thanks to everyone for sharing your information with me! I truly appreciated it and it certainly helped with making our decision. I'm wondering if anyone has stayed in the Presidential Suite when they got the Presidential wedding package? Were you impressed with it? It says subject to availability so I'm worried we won't have it for the week of our wedding. Each travel agent I've worked with hasn't been able to book it for us and Yeniza said that usually, you'd only get it on a first come, first served basis when you arrive. She also said they'll put you in another room with similar amenities if the suite isn't available but I read on here in someone's post where the back-up suite was just a room in the timeshare building that wasn't quite as nice. I really hope that most couples who book the Presidential package were able to stay in the Presidential room!

I had the presidential package, but did not get the presidential suite (my own fault, I only upgraded about 2 to 3 months before the wedding).  We were given a room in bldg. 19, right on the beach.  I had stayed at the resort before so I knew what a reg. room was like and our room in bldg 19 was much nicer.  Our balcony overlooked the beach, we had a nice little sitting area, 2 flat screen tvs, computer with internet (great for checking for updates from our photographer), a nicer bathroom and the furnishings were updated.  I saw pics of the presidential suite on here and yes it is nicer than the room we received but we barely spent any time in it anyway so it wasn't an issue for us.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
