Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Use common sense and use the deadbolts on your door, that is what they are there for.  If it makes any of you feel any better my fiance, my cousin (female, late 20's) and myself travelled to the Grand Sirenis a few years ago.  My cousin had her own room and would go to the disco at night by herself, never did she have a problem.  She went back with her sister just last year and again no problems.

This story is not changing any of my wedding plans. I don't think you should let it change yours. There has always been crime against tourists in Mexico; it is only now become more publicized with the increased amount of international tourists. The mexican criminal system is corrupt; this is not new. I posted this so that everyone is aware of a direct, potential risk at the GS. I think that the GS is as dangerous as any other all-inclusive resort in Mexico. It is unfortunate that this creep is likely still working there and will be there when I am there.  CBC news recently covered this story and contacted the GS for a comment. Maybe this convinced the GS to fire this dude.  I hope so. Regardless, the girls in my party and myself plan to practice common sense and be safe as we can. I will post a review regarding this and our entire stay at the GS when I come back!

Disagree 100 per cent -- it absolutely belongs on this website. When it comes to women, safety and sexual predators, ignorance is not bliss. The more knowledge you have about protecting yourself, the better.

I agree with you, although I'm not worried I'm happy that I've read the review in case one of my guests see it and mention it.

Than you for all the comments. I think that it is good to know what is happening and that we can express our concerns to GS, so they pay even more attention to the security.

After talking to my fiancé I think he is right , bad things happens everywhere , we don't know this person directly so we don't know the whole story. Therefore, we are going to be careful and enjoy our special day! Thank you for offering full review after your February's wedding.

All the best! Enjoy!

Hi all, we are here at the GS for a second week...for a bit of a honeymoon after our FABULOUS wedding here last week.  Let me tell you this...we sent 30 people back home today who had never been to Mexico before and they could not stop talking about what an amazing time they all had.  Each and everyone of them would have loved to spend a second week here with us!  There were a lot of rumblings on the resort about the wedding group mentioned in the story, and their behaviour while they were here.  Of course, you must be cautious WHEREVER you travel...stay safe, be smart and keep your wits about you.  I am all for a good time, but when I heard about some of the issues with this group, I wasn´t at all sympathetic.

Great to hear, can't wait until you get back so you can post a review and answer questions for us who are still waiting for our dates to come.  Hope it was a fabulous time and everything you hoped for!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
