Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

It really was amazing! I will definitely post some pics - stand by!

We did not use the resort photographer and didn't talk to them at all before the wedding. I actually didn't even realize she was there until after the ceremony was over...lol. She came up to me afterwards and told us when we could go look at the pics she took. My uncle reported he didn't have any issues with her while he was taking pictures. I'm not sure if they would be willing to swap anything out or not.

We never saw more than one wedding on the days that we were there, so maybe that is true. That would be nice - makes the day a little more special!

Would you be okay to post some pics in this thread for everyone to see?  If not, that's totally fine too...but I will send you my e-mail address 'cause I'd love to see them!

So, it sounds like you didn't use the resort photographer...were they around your wedding at all or was it a big issue to keep them away?  Could you have swapped the photog out for a videographer...or had the photographer come to rehearsal dinner instead?

I thought I read somewhere that they are trying to limit the weddings to one per day at the resort...was/is this the case do you know??

I was a little panicky about the weather too, but having the ceremony in the palapa was beautiful and think I actually liked it better than if it would have been on the beach. Gave it a little more character, ya know? You'll love the Italitan restaurant - it's lovely. Pics in my next post!

We are doing a symbolic ceremony as well so it is nice to hear that that was wonderful as well as hair and make up ect.  Pictures would be lovely as well if you don't mind.

Wow everything looks amazing :)  Looks like it couldn't have been anymore beautiful.

We are not using the resort photographer either, I am having one come in.  I have a question for you though.  Did you have to pay a fee because you didn't use them?  I was told we have to pay $300.00 for not using the resort photographers, even if we use them for the pictures that are included in the package we bought through the travel agency.  I am thinking if we don't bother talking to them maybe they will 'forget' about the $300.00 penalty fee.

Once again your pictures are amazing and I am a bit less panicky about the weather taking a turn, especially  since hurricane Rina has been downgraded to a tropical storm.

Did you have the lasagna for your meal?

How long did you have the restaurant for?  I think we have it from 6-10 and then will head over to the disco if everyone so desires.

Thanks again for the pictures I am so much more excited now.

Thanks! We are very happy with how things turned out. I really don't think we could have asked for anything better!

It's my understanding if you are using someone other than the resort photographer and they are one of your guests staying on the resort, you don't have to pay the $300 fee. However, if you're bringing in someone for the day to take pictures, that is when the $300 fee applies. My uncle took our pictures and was staying on the resort, so the fee didn't apply to us.

I did have the lasagna, which was delicious. My husband had the steak, which was a little salty, but still good. They were out of the snapper that day, though, and I'm not sure what the vegetarian option was, but I didn't hear any complaints from our guests about the dinner.

We had the restaurant from 6:30-10:30, then most of our guests migrated to one of the lobby bars.

My situation is going to be interesting then, because we're bringing in an outside photographer, but part of our agreement with them is that they stay at the resort overnight (we're paying for their room) and we do the TTD the next morning.  SOOOOO, I'm hoping that we don't have to pay the daily entrance fee for both of them AND we don't have to pay the $300 penalty as well because they are staying the night.  But, who knows?!?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
