Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Brides??

Recommended Posts

Hi Mexicobird,

If you look on the previous page there is a post by Elissa where she says that she did not need all her paperwork. You must be very excited as youre only a few days away. Hope you can do a review on your return and look forward to hearing all about it.

@mexicobird..... we didn't even show our birth certificates as my husband didn't even bring one, all you need is the blood test, and they didn't even get our results back, they really don't care , they photocopied our passports, got 4 witnesses signatures, extra 120$ for the judge and that's it, don't waste your time or money on that stuff..... we decided mid-monday to legalize it , and got legally married on wednesday

Elissa is right. As long as you have your passport and haven't been married before, you're good to go. I stressed out about the birth certificate thing a few days before I left after reading about it on this website. Don't fret! I will say, though, to bring USD cash (they don't accept credit cards... Aracely told me they did, though) to pay the medical office for your blood tests. We brought pesos thinking that there was no way they'd take USD after the new law enactment thingy, and the peso exchange rate they gave us was ridiculous. (Front desk will not give you USDs either, only pesos or CDN.) The guy at the medical office actually asked for USD.

Just as a note, out minister fee was $5,200 pesos (about $430 CDN) while another gals on here was $4,500. Not sure how Elissa got away with just $120... lucky! You might want to get it from Aracely in writing before you arrive...

Thank you all for your replys. I phoned and spoke to Aracelys assistant yesterday while writing this post and she also confirmed that we didn't need to waste our money getting our birth certificates translated all we would need is our passports, tourist cards from the airport and passports for our witnesses. I feel alot calmer knowing all this.

Yes will definately update a post when I get back. We leave the UK on the 22nd May, getting very excited now and on count down. I have stayed at the GS previously 3 years ago so it will be lovely to go back.

Thanks again

Michelle

Did you book your wedding through the hotel or your travel agent? as i have been told that if it is booked through the hotel then the minister fees are included and you only have to pay the 120usd for legalization.  If booked through your agent both minister an legalization has to be paid for making it a lot more expensive.  Does anyone know if this is correct?  I did ask Aracely's assistant but found it quite difficult to understand her.  19 days to go till we fly out there.  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
