Is anyone willing to share what their wedding is costing them for the ceremony and reception?

I am a little discouraged by the fact that after you exceed 20 people, you have to pay a per person fee at an all inclusive establishment.

PM me if you'd like

Thanks a bunch

We are six weeks away from our wedding and so far we have spent over $18,000.00

We expect to spend an additional $10,000.00USD or so before it's all over, but for the same reason, we have 41 guests at this point and we have to pay extra per person for cake, buy an additional bottle of Champagne for every 6 additional guests over 20...

Now that we've hit the magic number 40, we have to pay for a private restaurant. Since we are paying for the restaurant, Future Hubby said, let's go ahead and get a DJ and have the dances and toasts and tosses, etc.

We are just about the same as everyone else who has posted...I'll give some more detail of how it's breaking down for us.

We are spending

$3500 for travel (including the flight for my MOH)

$5100 for the wedding/private reception including

-flowers

-dj

-Reception dinner/drinks 15 additional guests (over the 20)

-upgraded photog

-pastor york

$5300 on everything else including

-my attire (2 dresses)

-his attire

-really nice invitations

-save the date

-gifts for our guests (beach towels)

-gifts for wedding party

-website

-rings

I'm sure there are few things that we will need here and there. We also agreed if we wanted things extra for our attire that wasn't in the budget we would get it on our own...we both have spent quite a bit extra in this area which is not included in our calculation. We are estimating we will have around 35-40 guests. We have 22 booked so far and we are getting married in November.

Hope this helps

We're looking at about $10000 which includes our travel for 2 1/2 weeks, photography, ceremony, dress and all the extras. So far we have 30 guests. Our resort only charges $10 per person over 20 for dinner at the ala carte restaurant so that's not too bad.

I am thankful for your willingness to share. I booked the RIU Palace Punta Cana today. I chose that resort because it was the only one that covered up to 60 people.

I hope that I am able to cut down on cost that way. I am going to start working on my Budget so that I can have a realistic understanding of all the expenses.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
