Here is a great Mandarin Orange Cake recipe that my mom makes for the 4th:

1 Box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix

1 cup cooking oil

4 eggs

1 large can mandarin oranges (juice and all)

Mix together and beat slowly for 2 minutes. Pour into (4) greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 425 about 10 minutes or until done.

Frosting:

1-12oz. cool whip (extra creamy is best)

1 large can crushed pineapple and juice

1 large box of vanilla instant pudding

a few leftover mandarin orange slices from above can

Combine pudding and pineapple and blend in thawed cool whip. Spread mixture over each layer and on the top. Garnish with drained mandarin oranges.

Keep in the fridge until you serve it!

I love beer bread too-I just bought a box of the wheat kind, can't wait to try that. I don't think I have the bacon dip! I'm sure it's delicious...I am going to make the Italian Tomato & Garlic Cheese Ball...I've had it for awhile but have been waiting for a good time to make it.

So now what should we make? Maybe pulled pork sandwhich's. Ive never made that
I think the pulled pork sandwiches would be really good--or you could do kabobs with chicken or grilled chicken sandwiches w/all the toppings...

this is my favorite dip recipe with dill-

* 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
* 1/4 cup prepared horseradish
* 2 tablespoons whole milk
* kosher salt
* 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
* dippers (such as celery sticks, cucumber rounds, and potato chips)

-In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, horseradish, milk, and 1/4 teaspoon salt until fluffy. Stir in the dill. Serve with the dippers.

Best onion dip ever----I think its from Racheal Ray. Its sooo much better than the lipton onion dip. Its easy too.

One large Vadallia Onion

Chop in medium pieces and put a little olive oil in a pan.

Slowly cook down with a little salt and pepper, until almost burnt. Constantly scrape bottom of pan.

Add container of Breakstones Sour Cream.

Amazing---this is a huge hit wherever I go.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
