ROR- Opinion from past brides!!

Recommended Posts

To all those past brides of ROR,

With all the weddings that seem to be booked at ROR daily, I'm curious if you still felt like it was YOUR special day. I have my wedding booked for 2010 but told that there are lots of weddings going on for that week. Did the resort make you feel special that day... or just one of many?

Sorry I think this is just me getting nervous of planning what I haven't seen!

Thank you,

I kind of felt like we were at a wedding factory. If I did it all over again, I would probably choose a different place. The day of our wedding, I didn't think about the other weddings, and it was a great day, but watching all of the others all week long was kind of annoying.

I read a lot of good reviews about Chandlyn (wedding coordinator) on here, but I did not have a good experience with her. I don't think she made us feel special at all. We were just another wedding on her assembly line.

If it is important to you to not be surronded by other weddings, you might want to think about changing locations.

I loved getting married at the ROR. There were a lot of weddings but I never felt like just another bride. Chandlyn and I talked a lot throughout the planning process and once I actually met her I felt comfortable and she was very easy to work with. She knew who I was and what we wanted and added a few special touches and everything was always no problem, it really was wonderful. We got our time with her and when the wedding was over we'd see her around the resort and she'd ask how we were and if we had a good time. In my opinion it was great and I'd do it again but it's really up to you.

HI

I got married april 29th and i can say without question i felt like king on that day. I spoke with Chandlyn alot during my planning and when i got there, so it made everything go smoothly. Saying its a wedding factory i think is a negative way of looking at it. Couldn't you say the same about any place that host weddings? THe day is what you make of it and believe me your friends and family will see that the day is all about you. I agree that 3 weddings a day mon-sat should tell you that this place is amazing and ppl want to be there. Make the best of your day and i promise you it will be unforgettable

Sounds like even though they do a lot of weddings, you will still enjoy the day simply because it is YOUR DAY. I'm stoked for the day I look my love in the eyes and profess my uncondition devotion to him. I won't even care about the other weddings going on. I am counting on being a teary, blubbering mess when I get married and I can't wait!

I am right there with you. I am already considering not wearing eye makeup underneath my eye because I am sure by the end of my ceremony it will be a gooky mess. I don't know about you guys but I love watching weddings I would feel honored if people stopped and watched mine. It would add to the "my day" feeling. I heard a lot of brides say after their wedding random people came up and congratulated them and they felt very honored and touched.

I totally felt special on my wedding day. Yes Chandlyn was busy & she wasn't there at every single moment on my day, but it didn't matter. Her attention to my wants & needs were shown in the fact that my day was perfect. Everything that we discussed up to that day was delivered.

There may have been other weddings on my day but I didn't notice any & wasn't really looking for any other brides. All that was on my mind was my day & having an amazing time with my DH, family & friends.

Also in retrospect, at the time she was the ONLY WC there so it was to be expected that she was incredibly busy.

I actually just returned from ROR & she was still doing things by herself because her assitant was at RMB that week.

Seeing other brides there throughout my stay didn't bother me either. Anytime I happened to see other brides, I actually smiled as I saw them walking through the resort because I knew what a wonderful time they were about to have. (My family & friends hated when I saw a wedding in progress because I wanted to go & watch everyone!!!)

So yes, there are multiple weddings on one day & through out the week but it's all good. Like others have said YOUR day is what you make of it & you will feel special and no one else will matter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
