Our guests were not next to each other but in the same building and not that far from each other, so it wasn't that bad.
Hi Sunset78,
How did your guests know what time the rehearsal dinner was at? My concern is I won't be seeing some of the guests beforehand, so I'm not sure how they will know what time to meet. I wanted to tell them in a letter I'm sending before we leave.

Though I told them what restraunt I wanted in the paper work, the finalization at the resort is when she confirmed the time. You can call the guest and leave a message, just call front desk to ask them to forward your call to such and such's room.

I saw eveyone all the time since most times we would meet for supper, and I also meet evryone when they arrived. So I was able to mention it a couple of times to people.

And also that I can't choose the rehearsal restaurant beforehand, because they don't know if it's available. And also that they can't guarantee that our guests will be put in rooms close to each other. I have less than 30 guests. How is it possible that the coordinators don't know? My wedding is more than a month in advance. It costs alot of money to have a wedding at Iberostar, and I'm not getting the few things I'm requesting. I tried politely to explain my frustration, and they responded with "This is how all the hotels of the world work." Does anyone have any insight for me? Thanks!
That is so weird. Karla asked me awhile ago which restaurant I would like to have the rehearsal and what time. She did say we could either do 6:30 or 8:30.

Regarding the rooms, our travel agent is going to give her Iberostar contact a list of all the guests and will be requesting that they are in the same building. When we stayed at the Lindo last year for a wedding we were in the same building as everyone else. They may just say that to cover themselves in case they are unable to accommodate.

Maybe the reason they can't guarantee a chapel rehearsal is because if there is rain my wedding will be moved there. But, hopefully that is not the case!!! That is so fun that you are getting married the day after us!!

Hope this helps!!

Hi Leah,

Very cool that we are getting married the same week! Maybe we will run into each other! I haven't worked with Karla at all, only Mayra and Lily. They had me fill out the request form, but then they emailed me back saying that cannot guarantee anything. I know they are trying to do their best. I guess I was just frustrated because anything I've said I'd like to have is either not available or double the price, because it's not standard. For example, red calla lilies instead of white. It's so difficult communicating through email. I'm slowly learning to just be flexible. What I really want more than anything is BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!!!

And I'm sorry if I missed it in the posts already, is there a private reception at the Lindo? I didn't think.

LDeeken & Lindobride - are you in Chicago or the suburbs? I'm in Joliet :)
I am in Lisle, just down Route 53 a piece, LOL.

I think we are going to stick with the Lindo after all. SO hard to make these decisions before our site visit. Why must I do everything backwards, Haha.

Yes, there are a few pricate reception choices, the Cajun restaurant, a beach party, and the Los Vitrales which is in the convention center I believe. I can send you pics if you're interested.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
