Shannon - I think we are going to do Brownies from the Ah Cacao store in Playa Del Carmen. I saw that another Iberostar bride had done that and I thought it would be a great idea. Also, this would be something we could get once we get to Mexico so we don't have to transport something else.

My Mom had the idea of having the chocolates delivered to the guest's rooms while they are all at the reception. Then when they return to their rooms they will have a thank you note with a brownie waiting for them! Reyna at the Del Mar said it would be no trouble to have them delivered, just $.50 per room charge.

I think we are also going to make a donation to a charity on behalf of our guests.

I really haven't thought of favors at all.... good thing for you guys reminding me of this! I finally did my invitations so I hope they look ok when they come in....! I'm nervous. i did them online on Invitations by Dawn - Unique Theme Wedding Invitations and Accessories

I think the brownies are a good idea since they don't have to be packed. I don't want to be worried about making time to go into town just to get them though.... I also would hate if people didn't eat them and they went to waste!

Aimee, good luck and have the time of your life. The Tucan is awesome.

Leah - We wanted to have everyone’s RSVP before March for OOT bags and all that good stuff, so we hurried up on the invites. Hopefully I can post the pictures tonight.

Sam,

Any thoughts about programs, OOT bags, welcome letters or itineraries?

Hi Ladies,

I have my invitations out and am moving forward. I have my OOT bags made and everything that is going inside of them already bought. I suggest looking and you can find some great deals. I wanted to know what you all are doing for your bridesmaids gifts. I am making them jewelry and photo albums of us growing up but do not know if that is enough. I feel bad that they are spending money to come be with us.

I am having my bridesmaids dresses made by a friend and am stressing about that. My BMs are everywhere.

I am also struggling with flowers. I want to go tropic but just can't make up my mind how to do it. My bridesmaids colors are chocolate, taupe, and champange. Any suggestions?

Thanks Mandee

ps. The prices have dropped quite a bit since last week. You may want to let your guests know..

I HAVE 20 PEOPLE BOOKED!

I am struggling with Bridesmaid gift too! I am going to have a tote bag monogramed for each of them (I think from The Pink Monogram - Monogrammed Gifts, Monogrammed Clogs, Personalized Monogrammed Jewelry And Accessories - Preppy Monograms At The Pink Monogram) and maybe a cute tank top that says bridesmaid, but I am at a loss beyond that. I did purchase necklaces for each of them from Ann Taylor Loft for the ceremony, but I am with Mandee, it just doesn't seem like enough.

Also, my fiance is also having trouble deciding on Groomsmen gifts so if anyone has suggestions he would definitely appreciate it!

Thanks girls!!

Leah

I bought my BMs Coach wristlets. They are silver/grey and match the dresses and hopefully can use them whenever.

Also starfish knock-off tiffany necklaces and I am still thinking.

Coach had a 20% sale during the holidays...it was great =) 4 wristlets $220 total =)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
