Has Lily contacted any of you besides the initial reservation of the date? I have e-mailed her, and she takes a while to get back. I know we are not supposed to do any planning until 3 months before, but I have questions I would like answered. I am getting excited!

Welcome to the forum! Looks like we will be down in Mexico at the same time!! We are getting married at the Del Mar, but will be staying at the Lindo from the 13th-22nd. Maybe we'll see you there! Where are you from in Illinois?

We might do a holiday card through shutterfly if we like one =)

I hope she gets back to you soon.

Anyone a little nervous about the flowers. I just really want them everywhere and large centerpieces and the flower pictures they sent were small and eh. Thoughtshuh.gif
I'm a little nervous about the flowers too. Maybe if you find pictures of exactly what you want that would help. I have heard that you can ask them to make your bouquets a little bigger, but they might charge you. I'm going to try and find pictures of each bouquet and centerpiece that I want so that they have something to work from. Hopefully that will help.

I guess I"m not too worried about the flowers. I don't have any sample pics of bouquets, not surprising since she won't STILL write me back.

I do have sample pics of flowers around the actual wedding set up- the Arch. I have two different examples. I thought they were both very pretty. I can't really think about flowers at the dinner because I have no idea where its going to be or if it will even be private!

I will feel better once I start looking for ideas and if I can go down there with what I want , and a back up plan.

Cute pictures Shannon! I love the bouquet!! If my sorority colors hadn't been pink and green I think I would have gone with those colors too =) Instead I'm just sticking to Pink.

Amy, I hope you hear from them soon. I think someone mentioned calling them. I actually did that at the very beginning and it was reassuring speaking to someone over the phone rather than just emailing. Keep us posted.

How exciting ! Is your wedding on the beach? Are you working with Lily or a different wedding planner? I am nervous because I have not had any contact with her since we reserved the date. I know she said to wait until 3 months before to talk details, but I am getting anxious.

I actually recently moved to North Liberty, IA. I used to live in Braidwood, Illinois, about 20 minutes south of Joliet.

Yay I finally heard from Lily! she made a note that I"m staying at the Lindo and its no problem!

Britt- I have gotten emails back from basically whoever gets around to it. I think I've gotten emails from 3 different people, so I don't feel like there is any ONE planner, but who knows!!

Shannon those pictures are nice! I have in my head what I want....but I'm not even sure what type of flower it is. Maybe a lily...? The girls dresses are 'mermaid' from davids' bridal, which is like a turquoise, so maybe some type of white lily and then a geberer daisy thats bright!? I don't know!

Amy- I just heard from Lily too! She answered all my questions, what a relief! She must have been out of the office or something. I just got finalized 2010 prices. If anyone needs them let me know and I will post them. Your bridesmaid dresses sound pretty. I still haven't finalized my bridesmaid dresses. I know I want pink.

Britt,

If you are ordering the girls dresses I would do it soon. My salon said 5 months minimum or else its rush order and you pay extra. But if you only have one or two girls you might get lucky at a Lord n Taylor or Nordstrom’s. My mom and MIL found dresses there, which were perfect!!!

Amy,

It's funny that only thing I could see myself getting nervous about are the flowers. I know everything down there is beautiful, but I really want the chapel and reception, 'throwing up flowers' if you will. I think they can really make an event. That and a photographer/videographer are the things we'll splurge on =)

Leah,

There are so many different shades of pink, so that could be very pretty too. Light pink, hot pink, magenta... Are you thinking tiger lilies, gerbera daises, roseshuh.gif

~~~Ladies after the New Year, it's going to fly~~~~ I can't wait =) -Shannon
How are people getting stuff down there? We are flying Air Mexicana, so we get 2 bags each, although DH would like one of his bags to be his golf clubs. Even without clubs, it seems like getting 75 OOTs and menus/placecards/programs plus all the other necessary items (we had a destination engagement and DH used a fake ring....this time we need to use the real ones ha) is going to be tricky. Ideas? Other than giving what we can to other people travelling, which may be hard since my family is in Indiana and his family is in NY and FL?
    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
