I just wish I could see some examples from the Iberostar photography staff!

Hi there, I see your post is from a while ago but I just booked with Claudia Rodriquez and they will pay 1/2 of the $300 penalty for using an outside photographer at the Iberostar.

Hi I'm getting married at the Del Mar as well and also thinking about switching resorts for the "honeymoon" week. We are also renting the Tropical for the reception and not sure what is happening between the 4pm ceremony and Dinner.

We are giving out:

fans for the ceremony/starfish wine stoppers at dinner/travel mugs before we leave.

Our Invitations are out/replies back! - and final payments due this week! 35 people booked at our hotel and 4 guests staying nearby! Look forward to hearing all the great ideas for Pre-Reception

Oh wow, interesting! Thank you for that information! I'm going to have to use the resort photographer due to budget. I really am not worried about it. I have spoken with them a few times and they've gotten back to me right away. I really don't see how 'bad' they could be. so...although I do love looking at everyone's pictures from 'outside'! I may do a price comparison again though...!

Hi Missy! I am also from Chicago, and am looking to have my wedding at Lindo!
I'm still debating between Lindo and a few more resorts. I have an entire year to plan, so I'm not freaking out just yet..

Hi Missy

Welcome to the forum. We are getting married at the Maya hotel the day before you. It would be lovely to hear about your plans for your big day.
Hope all is going well.

If you are shopping around you might check out PlayaWeddings. That is who we are going with and they are really reasonable. We are getting 8 hours of photo and video for $4200. They too mentioned something about covering the $300 fee to the resort.

It is a husband and wife (Rachel - photo, Paul - video) and they were great! Rachel is still new to the photo side so I think that's why their rates are still lower than other photographers in the area.

Hi! Thanks so much for that info. I don't know if I can talk my fiance into it! We didn't plan on spending so much- already the actual trip is pricing high although we have plenty of time for it to go down if this economy stays the same...We are trying to spend under $2000 on pics cause we also have a photographer for our AHF. I will check them out though!

We are doing the Del Mar from Monday to Monday and heading over to the Grand until Saturday for our Honeymoon. =)

I also just booked Claudia, we are going through the third draft of the contract. I just wanted all things 'unsaid' in the contract =) It's a lot of money, but pictures mean a lot to us and we'll have them forever.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
