Hi everyone-

Just wanted to know if anyone has already thought of the wedding day schedule. Our ceremony is at 4:00pm and am still deciding what time we should start our reception since we can only rent the Italian restaurant for 4 hrs. Is anyone having a cocktail party before the reception?

Thanks

This is a good question....my wedding isn't until 5. So I'm thinking cocktails right after, and maybe reception/dinner from 6-10? or 7-11? I don't know! I'd like to hear others thoughts.

We pulled out of the sensatori resort because of problems we were experiencing. Huge decesion to have to change venue and wedding date, however i am so unbelievably happy now and everything seams to have fallen into place.
I can't wait to hear about your planning at the Maya since yours is before mine! A lot of people seem to get married at the DelMar/Paraiso beach locations, so I'm feeling I need some more info about the Maya!!

Hi there

have been in touch with mayra at IB Paraiso Maya who has said if i have any questions to email her and she will relpy quickly. they dont start planning "your wedding" untill 3 months befor the big day, however that does not stop you from having everthing organised beforehand.

I have finished our invitations which have taken a few months to get them too look exactly how i wanted them.
-Favours for the male guests have been bought - blue/turquoise t-shirts
-Favours for the female guests - short hibiscus print turquoise sarongs
-Have decided to buyt turquoise silk fans for the ladies to use for the beach ceremony, just incase they hot.

Dress is bought, H2B and best mans outfits bought, Bridesmaids dresses still to buy.

My one concern at the moment is wether to get my make up applied by the spa or try and do it myself. deff going to have my hair up.

If i could get the pictures to upload on to this site i would include the photos of invitations, dress etc, but cant seam to do this at the moment. Will keep trying though.

Would love to hear how your plans are comming along too.

Hi all,

Just checking in. Anyone get any negative feedback about the hijacked plane yesterday? I could see family just tacking it on to the complaints about Mexico, from the Drug Lords, Swine Flu and now this...

One more things my FI says we have to do 'damage control' on...

Hi

We have invited approx 30 people, but only 10 have booked so far. Cost is an issue for a lot of them. Think they are going to wait nearer the time to see if they get some last minute bargains.

Its all so exciting

Shannon- gee, I better start watching the news because I've been so busy, i didn't hear about the plane!

Sam33- You have lots done! I have no where near as much done as you. I have my dress and shoes, and the guys all have their pants... The girls dresses and colors are chosen. I have ideas about some small details but nothing in the works. I'm definitely not doing crazy OOT bags. Most likely simple favors, welcome letters, etc. I have to really watch the current budget because our AHR has gotten bigger than originally planned. I have to focus on getting invitations out this fall. I did the STD in July.

I've been spending money on deposits for my AHR- so I have everything planned and booked for that. I'm happy about that. I'm waiting for contact with travel agent to check prices so we can get booking.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
