The resort and wedding was amazing. The flowers, the food...everything. There were multiple hiccups but I totally didn't let my mood be ruined, I was actually a very relaxed bride. Due to wind, they moved a wedding in the chapel the night of the rehearsal, set us off about 30-40 minutes...no worries... =)
I was late and lost the English speaking judge...had to have it translated and they forgot to do the exchange of rings...no worries...we really let everything slide and had a blast. The DJ was GREAT, and Claudia (photog) was AMAZING. She held us together....

I will write my full review within the week, things are still a little hectic.

Things fall into place and if it doesn't...you shouldn't worry...that was my theme and we had the best time of our lives!!!!
Hi!!!
Congrats for your wedding!!!
Can I ask you how much you paid for Claudia Rodrigez photos? Did you have to pay 300$ to the resort as you haven't use the photographer of the resort?

I can't wait to read your reveiw and see more pics!

Mags - Thank you!
We did pay the $300 fee to the Photoshop for using the outside photographer. It was completely worth it, because the hotel is just not good. They don't organize, just snap and shoot. But if pictures aren't a big deal to you and your FI, then go for it.
Pictures were a HUGE deal to us, as we will have them the rest of your lives. We went with the 8 hours package and Fine Arts album. We also used her videographer.

Golden Photo Package = $3,350
Special Video Package = $1,100
Fine Arts Album = $650

Thanks Ladies - it really was a great day and all will be okay. I was super organized which made things eaiser. That helps Karla or your WC too!

As long as you know that once you are down there, what will be, will be!!! Your day will be the perfect day and everything you dreamed.

If you do your dinner in an ala carte, they just put off to the side or in side a room if they have it so other hotel guests are around. It was fun to see brides walking around the restaurant but if you want speeches and dancing, I would do the private reception. They have great appetizers, bartenders all night, and serve you dinner. It was worth it! The service was great and it was nice to be away from other hotel guests. Especially compared to a venue rental in the US- around $5000 just to rent a place!

Also, the hotel photo shop is a little cheesy but affordable. We paid the $300 outside photographer fee and had to pay a day pass fee for his assistant. We used Sascha Gluck and LOVE OUR PHOTOS. If pictures aren't a big deal to you and you just want a group and couple shot, it might be ok to use the hotel but they are not creative at all and are pretty corny.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
