I found a forum on here for tipping:

http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-brides-53811/

It seems most of the brides were tipping betweeen $100 and $500 depending on the service they received. Some are giving actual gifts but others said the WCs probably preferred money in American dollars too - because they get a good exchange rate in town.

Thanks for the brownies idea. I'm looking into that at this very moment. I love the idea of having something local and delicious. I am also considering Mexican painted tiles as favors, but they may be a pain to get down there (and I'm a little apprehensive about holding off until we get down there to buy them). We figure the tiles would be a nice momento and they can be used as a decoration in the guests' homes or perhaps even as a potholder.

Hi Girls!! So I've been so busy with a new semester starting (I'm a teacher) that I haven't had time to get on here =(

Shannon - Your invites are amazing!! What a good feeling to have those done already!!

Emmers - I like the painted tiles idea, that sounds fun! I agree though that it might be a pain to get them.

Just wanted to let you all know that I booked my DJ!! We decided to go with DJ Doremixx. Shannon I actually read your review on another thread and decided that he was better than DJ Bob. We were debating between the two, but I like that DJ Doremixx (Ivan Gomez) is not only cheaper, but you get more from him.

Anyhow, hope everyones planning is going great!! Less than 5 months =)

Leah, That's great about the DJ. The response time and everything was very simple, fast and professional. I liked Ivan a lot. I just did the Western Union deposit of half =)

So far so good, 29 RSVP's back 20 = Yes and 9 =No. But we have 51 booked, so we are getting there =)

Only 1 RSVP wasn't booked, so that was a number we didn't have =) It's my college girlfriend but she wasn't saying anything and I didn't want to press.

How's the semister so far.

That's awesome you have so many people booked!! We currently have 24 I think, which I am so excited about!! I can't wait to see the response once we send out invites!!

The semester is going well, but very busy this first week. I have the excitement of our wedding to make it go by fast!

LDeeken- When are you planning on sending out your invites? I am just curious, since our weddings are so close together. I think we have about 20 booked so far, so I am about even with you. I only estimated about 35 people, so I am happy with 20 at 5 months to go!

I am also a teacher, so I completely understand how you feel. The semester should fly by with all the excitement though!

Finley- I love your invites. 51 booked that is amazing! Is your wedding shower coming up soon?

Planning updates:

We actually ended up going with D.J. Bob. I heard from a previous Iberostar Bride that he made her wedding.

I think I am having passport invites made by a lady who makes them out of her home. I should probably make my decision soon!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
