Stupid Cats

Haha. I love it! My mom and aunt are on it and I suppose someday I'll lose my mind too. Why not try it for the kittys?! I'll keep it in mind if the pheromone stuff doesn't work

feliway is AWESOME!!!! and we have this stuff called happy cat that we put into the water a few times/week (we have a water fountain for them). my boy cat was on kitty prozac when we were moving (b/c we had to put them in a big cat cage when people were in and out of the house while we weren't home - being caged made him pull his hair out), but took him off after the move. he was ok while on it tho....

Just be patient and give it a little more time. I brought two grown cats together after I moved to Reno and it took them almost 2 years to finally settle down and get along. Cats can be extremely stubborn. Good Luck!.

I used to have the same issue. I'm down to 1 cat now. (2 were my ex's and 1 of mine went kamikaze off his balcony and disappeared)

 

I don't know how much space you have, but we had to get 4 kennel crates, a litter box/food/water, toys, and bedding for each. Lock each cat in the crate for a couple of hours when they're napping or not wound up - long enough to get their scent and use their litter box so they can establish it as their own. This took care of the problem for us. Each cat then has their private space and when they wanted to be left alone, they went to their space.

I totally know how you feel. I have a 3 year old girl Devon Rex cat and I thought she was lonely since I work all day...my brilliant idea was to go get her a little baby boy kitten (thinking that was safe since it wasn't another girl)....well it has been a year now and she still despises my other cat - Romeo, the now 1 year old...he wants to play and bites her, she wants nothing to do with him. She is also not going in the box and I have two boxes as well...

 

Long story short, I'm so sad...but I have to give Romeo, the little boy to my cousin. I just can't do this to Maya anymore...she is having crazy blood tests from stress from Romeo...the vet bills have been outrageous recently. It is so weird that another cat can have that sort of emotional affect on them.

 

So good luck! I hope you don't have to get rid of one like I am having to...it is so sad - but yeah I'd say after a year would be a good time to figure out if that is what you need to do or not.
